What Are the Protocols for Admins Closing Posts in Visa-related Facebook Groups?

JUST TO EXPLAIN MY ACTIONS.

Another snowflake is crying about a closed post.

Did you even read the comments, you ask about the Non Immigrant O-A visa and first comment is:

Do I need this on my METV?

I do no sit 24/7 behind a computer to delete comments of people who hijack other posts. I relayed the question to an Admin known for his knowledge and who can read and explain the Thai text in your question.

I closed another post, question was; How can i change from a Non Immigrant O-A visa to a Non Immigrant O visa, this question is hijacked by a group of members to discuss the terms and conditions of Health insurance.

I took a question out of a post and re-posted this as again a new question is posted in somebody else their topic to hijack their post.

I have a simple solution and I will not close any topic anymore.

No more new topics, a question about TM30 can be used in comments to how to get a visa in the USA or how do i get a new stamp at the border, with mixed in between the Extension of Stay based on marriage.

All in one long list of incorrect answers. You just read all and hopefully you find an answer

I know a Facebook page for that, please feel free to join them.

Or stop hijacking other peoples topics as mentioned in the description of this page.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion focuses on the protocols and challenges faced by admins in managing a Facebook group dedicated to Thai visa information. A member explains their rationale for closing posts that deviate from the original questions, to maintain clarity and prevent hijacking by unrelated discussions. Commenters generally support this practice, appreciating the need for structured conversations on visa topics, while expressing frustration at members who disrupt discussions.

Time to close it down. You came to this page out of free will. If you see the small picture of the assho.. before a comment, scroll do not read. Save yourself of getting excited and all fu...d up by reading it.

You can also leave on your own free will, on top of the page the box Joined, click on it and click on leave group.

Possibly the problem many times is that many people already have an answer in their head that they want to hear or that suits their plans. Often they don't accept the actual answer because it is not what they wanted OR because there is no clear answer that can be given. Will I get a visa? Will I get in to Thailand after 2.5 visa exemptions and 1.7 tourist visas. Will I need an onwards ticket? Also 90% of the people that post have NOT reviewed the pinned topics or the previous posts or gone through any of the comments, which would answer their question before posting the same question for the 50th time. And they wonder why commenting gets closed quickly ;)

Michael McKinney Hijackers jumping into someones question with a completely different and unrelated question is an inconsiderate nuisance.

Posting a comment that does not specifically answer or apply to or is heresy is unhelpful.

I like that Tod closes a post once the question has been answered or when it's becoming a fiction story. This makes searching the thread and finding relevant answers much easier.
Wayne **********
Geez. I didn't do anything but now I'm gonna be extra careful I don't like feeling as if I've done something wrong....So I take it
@Tod ********
you were a little miffed at someone???LOLOLOLOLOl
Tod *********
nope, not at all. Believe me it takes more than a few bad people on this group to rile me up.
Jeffrey ********
You’re page should get the highest rating possible if they were rated. Thank you so much for all the information that you share. I can’t imagine how many thousands of people you’ve helped!🙏🏼
Patrick ******
It is impossible to make everyone happy, so don't feel bad, Majority of the members really appreciate you and other moderators hard working and efforts. I bet even people who occasionally complain are not really mad at you guys. Keep up the good work!!!!💪💪💪
Sergey *********
Like each and every other group - obey the rules or get out. If I was in charge here, I wouldn't have that amount of patience for sure =)))
Ted ******
I appreciate the monitoring of this group also. Keep it up!

What’s the exact definition of Snowflake ❄️ I’m 😐 Conflicted is it a Political Term ? I hope not
Benjamin ******
A snowflake is someone who is sensitive and melts down quickly over the smallest of things.

It is many times used on Facebook to address people who are easily offended or got their feelings hurt if other people do use Facebook in a way that does not fit their agenda, In stead using the scroll button, they start posting to offend other people.
Paul *******
I came to this group and got my visa with help, because it’s focused and to the point 👍 perfect.
John ********
I like the way this group operates. It keeps the answers short and to the point. It has helped me tremendously over the last 18 months. Just ignore the people who are moaning. No one has yet to have come up with a simple practicable way to change things without it becoming impossible to manage. You have your own lives to lead. Rant over.

Snowflake...

The last word I expected to be uttered here...

Take a pair of scissors, cut out the page with this o-a visa visit a Thai consulate and apply for a non-o 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Sometimes a laugh is needed.
Paul ******
TBH U do close some posts a bit too fast. Just my opinion.
James ************
@Robert ******
why close at all? I have never been in a group that closed before at least a month
Robert *******
ORIGINAL POSTER
Thanks, please show me some posts that are closed to fast without a answer. As you can read in the Admins explain populair topics, send a PM to one of the moderators or admins if you have valuable information and the topic get re-opened again.
Nigel **************
Keep up the terrific work Robert, Tod and the others. Most of us can understand why you close posts when u do. Thanks.
Barry *******
The post should stay open until the question is answered, replies that are not relevant to the post shoud be disregarded.
John **********
@Barry ******
the problem is many who profess to know the answer are wrong. What you seem to be arguing for is answers only by the admin team
Mark ********
I’m sure there are many people such as myself that read your daily threads to keep updated on visa issues. And I am sure you are appreciated by many many of us. Please keep up the good work.
Galen ******
I agree!!!
Andy **********
What is wrong with keeping a post on topic? Just because a someone asked a supplementary question in someone else's post, does not meant that it should stay open until that extra question is answered. If the correct info has been given in reply to a question by one member, WHY should the post stay open because someone else doesn't understand?

The people running g this site give accurate, up to date, LEGAL responses to visa questions. It is done voluntarily in their own time. There are over 30k members on here and not everyone can be made happy by a handful of admins. If you don't like a response or that a post has been closed, pm the admin to get it reopened.

Too much cherry picking of information to try to get the response wanted, rather than the correct one.

End of rant. Sorry.
William *******
Robert ,keep up the good work as a volunteer to administer the group.

I’m happy that you close posts when someone drivel’s on about an unrelated topic or the question is answered. Many Facebook groups are worthless sounding boards . Keep up the good work.
Stephanie **********
You do great job. The team have answered questions for me 3 or 4 times. I always try and look for the answer 1st and try and give as much information as possible. Some people don't even give basic personal information for the team. Thank you
Stefano ***********
Robert, at the end of the day you guys are running this page and it's all voluntary so you guys get to make the decisions. You don't need to explain anything to anyone. The info you provide is invaluable and if anyone wants to question your decisions then this isn't the page for them. Keep up the great info. Cheers.
Dannie ***************
Follow the protocols if you have concerns is a good idea.

l for one appreciate your teams effort it's helps me understand different scenarios l might find myself in .

This is not the first time you remove post or close it . Some of us still waiting for answers on some topics :(

PLEASE contact me, one of the admins or other moderator by PM with a reference to the post and it will be re-opened. This is stated several times on this page, you can read it back in the populair topic Admins explain. But send out a PM is to difficult, so please check your message request box, where I will send this same text and hope i get a reference to some topics.

People who have never been an Admin of a FB Group likely do not realize the minimal group management tools we are given... Very Skimpy. Plus there is no ability to create a subtopic thread and just move a post there out of the way where people can interact all they want.

Letting a post linger with people posting "me toos" and debating endless minutia is that every comment or reply causes the post to rise to the top of the page. This in turn pushes new posts down the page and sometimes out of sight.
Joe ***********
As Admin of 4 very busy groups... when there is a post violating rules it is removed without notice or explanation. Same with inappropriate comments or hijacking comments - zap.

It is up to the person to figure it out - maybe even read the Group Rules before posting
Thore ***********
You ARE doing a great job here. Very good that you close some posts before all bullshit shows up like what happen on most other groups here at Facebook. Thanks for all what you and your people do here and all good advices.
Simon *******
Keep up the good work guys you all do a great job.👍
Biff *******
You guys should have an admins group where you can discuss all this kind of stuff in private. All the groups I’ve ever been an admin or a mod for have had one. The members of the main group don’t need to see this kind of stuff. Make your decisions in private, then make an announcement.
Robert *******

WE have, but snowflakes do no like to read a description of the page, do not like to read Admin explain, they do like to keep on spamming the page with: My topic is closed again by...... In stead of sending a PM to on the admins or mods as asked

Fully understandable for your efforts
Dan ******
Don't worry. Overall you do a very professional job, with this difficult task. There are many cantankerous people on the internet.

strong. Snowflakes and people who piss and moan get booted very quickly. I ain't got time for people who complain about a group they VOLUNTARILY joined.
Tod *********
I just started deleting people's posts when they hi-jack other threads.

They never seen appreciative that we re-post their question, OR even answer their off topic question in the other thread..

Please Carry on - you do not need to explain your actions. Wouldn’t want this becoming Thaivisawaffle group
