If you want to use a cooking class for the soft power category for the DTV: does the cooking school have to be certified by the MOE (ministry of education) or is it enough to have a booking confirmation of a multi-week class and the payment slip for it (maybe id and business registration of the owner/company?)? anyone got any experiences with this? Any other documents needed in case of the cooking class route besides the financial proof? preferably applying via eVisa in germany but a thai neighboring country would also be an option. Thanks in advance.

If applying for a DTV via the ‘soft Thai’ route (course registration for Muah Thai, learning Thai, cooking etc) is there a register of approved insitituions, or can you just choose anyone you wish ???

I have 2 questions in the bottom.

But for some explanation.

I am pending approval for the DTV

Requirements 1 to 4 I have.

I am only missing no 5

I have paid the fee and they wanted additional information regarding being a freelancer.

( I have been self-employed since I was young )

Most of my customers and wholesale is done online from Danish customers ( I been living in Bulgaria since 2020 )

I have provided additional documents showing statements of remote work.

( I hope that it will get approved ).

However IF the additional documents is not proof enough, maybe because my income from this source is diminishing.

My focus since I left Denmark, is more on my investments.

Sow if not approved I am ready to apply again an the use the Thai soft power approach.

Proof of confirmation to attempt the activity.

Under Eligible Foreingers is sad

2 participates in activities such as

- Thai cooking classes

- Muay Thai courses

I called the embassy in Bucharest to ask about the 5b and what Thai cocking class school / classes will count towards no 5 b Thai soft power. ?

The only answer I got it was a question back, if I was a cook.

That confuse me !

Is this correct that if I want to apply via 5 b Thai soft power Thai cooking classes.

I shall be a Cook first ?

Next question will be if I choose to take Muay Thai courses

Do I have to be a karate black belt

hope somebody can clarify this for me or point me in a direction where it stayed it more clearly than in the picture below.

Thanks

I’m trying to apply for the DTV ( destination Thailand Visa ) online

However there is very little communication (close to zero I guess they are busy With upcoming season) with the Thai embassy in Bucharest where I apply online and payed

They needed additional information regarding freelance work that I can not give them

Maybe I am the one making the mistake I thought freelance was the same as self-employed

I have been / still are Self-employed but use were little energy in to this now.

I close to early retirement.

It is only : purpose of visit

Where I want to switch from

A : freelancer status

to

B : Thai soft power Proof of confirmation to attend Thai cooking class

I have search for take cooking classes in Phuket

But I don’t know which one they mean that will count as being a participant in take cooking classes

Anyone knows if it’s just these half a day ( 4 hours) classes, is one enough or how many is required

How is the special schools I need to apply for Thai cooking classes ?

For those who have received a DVT going the cooking route, has anyone had success with a school in Bangkok apart from the Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy?

I thought I had initially seen courses in the $500 range that qualified for DVT, but now they’re over $1,000.

Yes, $1,000 is still a bargain for a 5 year visa. But there’s also the possibility that we’ll have to reup every 6 months, and leave the country as well. Those costs would certainly add up over 5 years.

Hi everybody!

Just hoping for any help and information regarding DTV Visa Eligible Thai Culinary Cooking Classes in Phuket?

I will be based and living in Kalim / Patong and I am hoping to find an eligible Thai Cooking class/course nearby or at least in Phuket, and not have to enrol and travel to the Bangkok Thai Cooking Academy.

Really pumped about doing a training course not only for the DVT Visa, but for my own personal development, cooking in my Zen place. 🙏

Any help and suggestions will be very much appreciated, thanking you kindly in advance, kop khun krap. 🙏😊

Thai embassy/consulate in Vancouver British Columbia. How to get the DTV by taking cooking classes? 1 day of classes, 1 week, or 10 classes in a certain period, or 20 classes??? We are staying in Hua Hin, any recommendations as to cooking schools? We will be in Thailand for 5 months starting in November, then returning after our house sale closes in Canada in 2025.

Hi peeps! My man and I are heading the the immigration office at some point next week to see about getting our Tourist Visas swapped out for Education Visas. Should we hire an agent to help us? If so, do y'all have any recommendations? :)

Thanks so much! ALSO, does anyone know if there are Thai cooking classes available for ED visas??
