Eric Schurig is asking in another topic:

So having just gotten my O-A visa outside of Thailand using banked funds, I don't have to show 800k bht in a Thai bank to immigration here until 3 months before my visa expires next October and it doesn't need to be transferred in one lump sum, I can work up to that amount over the coming 9 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Eric Schurig recently discussed his Non-Immigrant O-A visa, expressing that he believed he was not required to show 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account until three months before his visa expires. He was curious if he could work towards that amount over the next nine months. A commenter clarified that while the O-A visa allows one year of stay upon entry, to extend his stay, he would need to have the required funds in a Thai bank account two months prior to applying for the extension.

With this Non Immigrant O-A visa you get one year of stay if you enter Thailand. Please check this stamp directly. If you plan another border run just before this visa expire you can get almost 2 years of stay out of this Visa, be aware that after the enter before/valid until date on your visa, your still can stay till your admitted until date but the visa has expired and you do need a re-entry permit to keep this stay alive if you like to go abroad and come back before that date. 45 days in some Immigration Offices, most 30 days before that last Admitted to stay day you can apply for the Extension Of Stay, one of the requirements is you need the minimum 800.000 Thb 2 months prior the application date on a Thai bank account in your name

I understand you can also proof your income by 12, Thai bank as i understand, bank-statements proving that you sent into Thailand minimal the THB 40.000 of the THB 65.000 per month. Depending on your type of extension one is using. Abroad income bank-statements will not be accepted as i presume.

It is 800.000 Thb two months prior application date on a Thai bank in your name OR 65.000 Thb monthly income with letter from your Embassy, Or a combination of these two with minimum 800.000 Thb together. Once in a while deposits in a bank are not the same.

I bring in about 1 million baht a year in 3-4 wire transfers but spend it over the year.Q would this work the same as having 65,000 baht a month into your Thai bank ? This would be for my one year extension TIA
