Great news for those in Chang Mai.

I read so many times, it takes months to apply for the work permit, at least that is what the employer tells the employee.

Now this new office, Work Permit and Visa all done in 30 minutes. (if you meet the requirements)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A recently opened office in Chiang Mai offers expedited visas and work permits, potentially taking as little as 30 minutes for qualified applicants. However, this service primarily caters to BOI and IEAT approved companies, which may exclude many rank-and-file workers. Discussions among users indicate a need for clarification on whether this applies to new work permits or extensions, and the potential implications for tourists waiting for services.

Hang on, this is ONLY for BOI and IEAT approved companies, NOT for rank-n-file workers. It's just like the One Stop Service Center at Cham Churi Square here in Bangkok.

This office is just opened. Let's wait till we get reports of people using this. And stop all the assuming about what the service is or will be, or if you're in Chang Mai visit them and ask for information if this is for a new work permit and the initial Non Immigrant visa, OR only for extension of your work permit and Extension of Stay Thanks.

I'm sure this is only for visa and work permit

renewals. We will still have to leave the country for the initial visa.

Aren't they talking about extensions not visas.
Danny *********
yeah, makes more sense :)

They put all the people from the tourist visa to the work permit visa?? So the tourists have to wait longer now?
Rene ******
every minute there, is a minute less that we can spend money :)

Tourists have time enough, they are on holiday. ๐Ÿ˜…

I wonder what kind of visa they are talking about?

Danny De Bie If your company can meet all the requirements at Immigration you can apply there, but seeing that most companies somehow can not meet the requirements is the reason you have to go abroad for this visa.

@Robert ******
Will they provide a non-B inside the country, that's what I wonder because normally you need to go outside the country?
David ************
This will be interesting to see being as that it normally takes them longer just to go through the paperwork.

As there are not to many visa's that allow you to work I would say the Non Immigrant B visa, the Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage to a Thai National, maybe the Non Immigrant O visa based on volunteer and the Extensions of Stay based on working or volunteer in Thailand.
