Dear members,

If a post is closed down for commenting and you have valued information to add just contact the Admins or Moderater and we can re-open the topic for you.

If you think certain persons are giving incorrect information or you don't like the way the information is written, contact the Admins or you can use the scroll button on your mouse or computer.

I understand that with over 70 Immigration Offices and all having their own special requirements, the correct advice can only be given by a person that just visited that Immigration Office with the same question.

Unfortunately, even with 28k plus members, who are not all day on-line, you will see general advice followed to visit that Immigration office for their specific list with requirements.

Posts do get closed with a reason mentioned when it gets closed, if you think otherwise or you think that the subject is Thai Visa related, contact the Admins.

If you just start a new topic to complain about this page, I will delete it. This page offers lots of advice for all kinds of different visa scenario's, if you do not like this feel free to use the leave group button.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the process for reopening a discussion about Thai immigration if it has been closed, and the importance of addressing false information. It emphasizes that correct immigration advice can only be provided by someone who has recently visited an Immigration Office. The conversation includes user experiences with entry refusals due to frequent travel to Thailand and highlights the need for the correct visa type that reflects one's travel status.

now it's my turn to create the shitstorm. I deleted one member for labeling Thailand in a negative way. And I close comments. Neither we nor anyone can predict the outcome when you face IO with a lot of stamp, the IO make decision and he can refuse entry based on many reason (in most case no money as the reason). To avoid such situations get a proper Non Immigrant Visa which reflects your status in Thailand.
Joe ***********
Yes it is the Fault of Immigration because the Chief of Immigration gave the big Embassies an ultimatum last May that the Embassies MUST verify Income which Immigration knew had not been verified for 12 to 15 years. The big Embassies said No. To keep stating that the problem is the Embassies fault is sheer fantasy.
Marty *********
It seems like these issues hinge on the question of whether you are a legitimate tourist or are you living here? The IO is going to make a discretionary decision based on the length and frequency of your tourist travel. It is not hard to see how you might not be considered a tourist if you spend more time here than you spend in your home country. No doubt there are some people who are legitimate tourists and want to travel here frequently year after year. The system just doesn’t work for them. It seems like the Elite visa is the most trouble free option. It is $260 USD/month for 5 years. Not too expensive on a monthly basis but it is a large expense up front. Complaining about the letter of the law is not going to help if you are trying to spend a lot of time here as a tourist.

: My Thai students commonly got 10-year visas after just working one summer in the USA. No 90-day reports or annual renewals.

The inequality/unfairness between the two systems boggles the mind.

Yes. The rig worker was a category of worker I thought of for whom the system doesn’t accommodate. Regarding monthly payments, individuals can wire transfer the appropriate amount at the appropriate time. It’s not a raffle. The rules are new but they are pretty clear. Some rules have always been there but are now being enforced. As I said, some are not accommodated and some people are just plain screwed.

We can speculate on a preferred different set of rules but that is for a different FB group.

It is not the fault of Immigration that 4 Embassies stopped quickly with handing out the income Affidavits. They could have waited till an alternative was announced by Immigration. Immigration has to handle quickly as the Embassy just told their citizens get the 800.000 Thb in the bank or leave Thailand.
Chris *****
Boggles my mind people can face more scrutiny coming to Thailand than the USA 😂
Ray *********
Marty Pollard Marty, there are problems that need solving. What about a Rig worker (with a Thai wife) who works
*****
? Visa exempt is perfect. What about UK/Aussie expats that get pensions paid every 28 days....average monthly income could be more than 40,000..but that includes 1 month where you get paid twice. These things are not being considered by immigration. What if I had a Thai wife who is also earning a good salary? It's like a raffle!

I will do a fast resume...

After 2 months in Malaysia and Bali i was come back to Thailand (Dong Muang Airport).

When i arrived to the counter, the guy saw my passport with many visa stamps, then he tld me i need to talk with the boss because the system launch alert when you stay many days in Thailand.

The boss (woman) she was counting the days in Thailand and told me i been more days in Thailand than my country in the last year, then this is not a tourist. And was refused to enter...

Then the immigration police take my passport did photocopy and move me to a detention room, and give me 2 options.. 1st come back to my country or 2nd go to another country, but if i want go to other country i need to be accepted, because now im not a normal traveler, because i was refused to enter in Thailand.

Then we was talking with Malaya and accept me, i decided this place because the ticket to my country is crazy expensive.

And if u wanna buy the ticket for 10 days after.. u need to stay in the detention room 10 days...

Then i bough a ticket to Malaysia and next day, before took the flight told me i need to pay 800bath by night for the detention room, i was only there one night.

But i replied to the officer i don't wanna pay,because i'm here not for my decision, and she told me if i don't pay i can't take the plane.

Then i paid because i don't wanna stay there more time, and she make me the invoice about the night there.

I took my plane and i had a interview with immigration in Malaysia.

After see everything is fine, was accepted and i'm here.

Then...

If u have many stamps, better go to your embassy and got a new passport with a new number and apply visa before enter to Thailand, because in few days will be implemented the finger print system, and then u can't use this trick anymore.

And the same story as being already deleted by the Admin. Why you not make a picture of your deniel stamp, take out the personal data and post it? The system alert not about how many days but about how many Visa Exempts Entries used, as we mention many times there is no maximum amount of days you can stay in Thailand. People entering Thailand with the Non Immigrant O-A visa get 1 year of stay, with the Non Immigrant O-X visa 5 years of stay. Many expats apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay on different reasons and they never are told after 180 days you have to leave.
Albert ******
@Heinz **********
No. Just put your passport number in a phone app. And say how many days are u been in Thailand
Heinz ***********
Hi. Maybe immigrations googled your name and found your website?
Maxim ***********
Robert, you closed a post yesterday 3 min after someone showed screenshot of his refusal (proof of funds). He had been saying that he had the funds but immigration told him about the 180 days non-existing law but check-boxed the proof of funds. You closed that post literally 3 min after he showed proof you ask everyone to show. You are losing credibility every time you are covering stuff like that.
Robert *******
ORIGINAL POSTER
As mentioned you have to discuss this with the admin who deleted your post.
Albert ******
@Robert ******
Yes is okay is not my page u can do whatever u want. But i think this information is very nice if someone stay in the same situation like me.
Maxim ***********
@Robert ******
Albert Wolf story was interesting, and he had the screenshot.

As it going to surprise you, I only closed
@Albert *****
his topic. It is deleted by Admins later.
Maxim ***********
@Albert *****
Explain again what happen to you exactly with the SCREENSHOT. This is the kind of proof that people don't show enough here. I prefer not going private when it can value everyone.
Albert ******
And i'm agree with u delete everything is not good idea, because sometimes the people is repeating most of the time the same topics.
Albert ******
@Maxim **********
was deleted, that's why u didn't found.

If u need some question, don't be worried u can ask me by message.
Maxim ***********
Robert Lagas This group is tiny, 28k members, mostly inactive members that are no longer in Thailand, I don't expect everyone who get denied to go to FB, find this group, and post. What I notice is that such post are increasing a lot in 2019.
Maxim ***********
@Albert *****
Can you link ur post I can't find it.

@Maxim **********
You already told me it is bullshit, but more than 30 million tourist have no problems when enter Thailand. We very rare see a post that an Extension of Stay is denied with all the correct documents. We see a few post of people who got denied entry and Immigration rules become complex.
Maxim ***********
@Robert ******
Yes but she had to be very persistent, which should not be a thing. When people says here that they had the cash, showed it, and still got refused based on lack of proof of funds, it's the truth, it's just that they were not persistent enough or didn't know the full extend of the law. What you often imply is *officer will never dare do that, you did not have the proof of funds!*. Yes they did, officer just trick them, you know how it goes.
Albert ******
@Maxim **********
Maybe u talk about me....

@Maxim **********
She did good, tell them there is no rule and show the cash, proof of onward travel and proof of accommodation.
Maxim ***********
@Robert ******
Well ofc u can warn people that some may want to scam you in private. But if you do so than don't close an very active post I mean what do you think OP will do if all he heard from you is *follow the law and u will be fine*, when we both know that it's more complex then that?
Maxim ***********
@Robert ******
Tell me what you can do in a situation where officer is telling you about a 180 days ruling that u know doesn't exist, doesn't want to see your cash and than check-box the lack of proof of funds. What can you do after that? Someone yesterday literally said that she made a scene in front of officer with both cash and bank statement and had to explain for a hour what she was going to do and her persistence paid off.
Robert *******

Maxim Thibodeau How can I tell by just seeing the name the difference of a scammer or a person with enough knowledge to give correct information of incorrect information?
Robert *******

People should be aware of the section 12 and the reasons of deniel. I understand not every one knows them, but if I would get denied entry and they put a stamp in my passport I demand to know what it stands for.
Robert *******
ORIGINAL POSTER
Just to show you an example of advice given by PM, after a question was made on this page:
Maxim ***********
@Robert ******
Is telling people that officer may invent a *180 days ruling* on the spot to trick you but then check-box proof of funds without ever asking you about it misinformation or incorrect information? People need to know how to deal with officer that are trying to trick you.
Robert *******
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Maxim **********
As you also can read in several comments, not all the advice is correct. We, as discussed with the admins, do not like people get incorrect advice by using this page when going into private messaging.
Maxim ***********
Robert Lagas Why every time someone want to go private you ask them to stay in this group so it can value everyone? I'm getting PM everyday from people who want alternative opinion because they are scared you will lock their post or already did. I don't want to have to answer PM... would be much easier if some post were here to have meaningful discussion about what is happening with some immigration officer.

@Ray ********
I can, but I closed enough topics about how to transfer money into Thailand. Keep on posting that you think it is visa related and I will remove.
Ray *********
I made a recent post and Robert closed it almost immediatly. Obviously cannot accept some constructive critism!
Maxim ***********
I can't find the post there are literally 100 post per day... it was a post about someone sarcastically talking about him getting stuck in BKK (800b airport hotel) after coming from KL. Another member who was complaining in comment finally showed the paper stating why he got denied (which you asked people in comment people to show if they want to be taken seriously).
Maxim ***********
@Robert ******
Exactly, Thai visa advice include telling people about how immigration officer are going to conduct themselves when u are trying to enter the country. People need to know when a officer is bending the law or trying to trick you. It's important, people should be equip to deal with corrupt officer. Thailand is a very corrupt country, we saw that with the election. If corruption happen at the highest level imagine simple officer.
