What are the current threats to expats' visa status in Thailand amid police clean up operations?

Had 14 policemen stopping me on way back from bigc via soi today.. to get to soi 22. 11.30am. Looked through my wallet checked my pockets. Showed copy of my passport but seemed more interested in checking my pockets. Cambodian wife was ok once I was ok.

This is why Immigration doesn't seem to really get mad if someone comes in and out of Thailand and getting new Visas because at least they see you as a good person, following rules, show proof of funds and they'll gladly give you permission to stay in Thailand. It's these guys who hide out and overstay their Visas is who the Immigration officers are after. I think as long as you don't overstay your Visa, they'll be nice to you.
