Vincent Forrester asked by PM, after I closed his question about needed finger prints for Visa application:

Fingerprints are required to get Non-O and other visas nowadays.. even though it's not mentioned or compulsory for some countries.

They rejected my Non-O today even though I had a recent Police Clearance from my previous university.

Today the officer told me that I had until monday to get it or I won't get my Non-O.. which doesn't make sense as you can't normally get it in a few days.

Would you kindly enable the comments for a few hours until i get a few advice or contacts.. thanks.

I just came back from the Royal Thai Police

I have a copy of those letters that Cheang Wattana uses to request for foreigners doing Non-O

You've been here long enough to know that requirements are not always mentioned and differ from what the Thai Immigration requests.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Vincent Forrester raised concerns about the fingerprint requirements for the Non-O visa application, after being told by an officer that he needed to provide fingerprints by Monday to avoid rejection. He highlighted previous experiences and differences in requirements among nationalities. Commenters provided insights on obtaining fingerprints and expressed confusion about the need for such documentation, as it has not been typically required for all applicants.

I guess the question is do they just want the fingerprints (doable) or the clearance (impossible in that time frame).

You can get your finger prints done at a local police station for a bit of tea money and a polite ask. I got mine done as part of my police clearance application made from my local police station. I walked away same day with copies of my fingerprints and was told to wait 3 months for processing in Bangkok. (Although I got a fax/copy of my clearance after four weeks). So.. if they are only asking for fingerprints the local police station will do.

are you applying for the initial 90 day Non-O visa in section C-1 OR are you applying for a yearly extension of stay based on marriage in section L ?

What type of visa or extension are you on now and what is your nationality?

I have never ever seen them ask for fingerprints in section C-1 to get a 90 day Non-O visa. Now that doesn't mean that for certain nationalities they don't ask, only that the many many times I've accompanied people thru that section (as recent as 2 weeks ago) they weren't.

Be careful, they won't tell you about the letter. You have to ask them to give it to you.. then you'd be able to process your fingerprints at the Royal Thai Police.

I have only 5 days left before my Visa expires (which makes the process impossible).

I'm currently visiting different lawyers who can request it using attorney's power and obviously pay more to get the fingerprints faster.

(as mentioned, it doesn't apply to all nationalities from what I've seen)

, as you are the specialist at Cheang Wattana Immigration Office, fingerprints are needed to get/apply for a visa at this office?
