Dear Members,

I've seen on another Facebook page the usage of populair topics in posts.

I tried it out to make a view different populair topics and attach questions to these.

I hope these populair topics will make it easier for you to search for an answer or get information already given about this topic.

I will add more questions with relevant information and keep an eye on added information, to keep this popular topics up to date with the latest information.

As always I'm open for any suggestions to try to make this Facebook option to a database of information, separated by short to the point titles and more easy to find back.

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Members are encouraged to use popular topics in their posts to facilitate easier information retrieval within the Facebook group. Suggestions are welcomed for enhancing this method, as it aims to create a more organized database format that presents questions and answers more clearly.

Just found out, you can open a popular topic group (I did on new tab), copy the link and paste that as an reply to a new question. All info in one list of comments about the same topic.

Facebook Groups have very few options to organize information. Robert is just trying to use what tools he has available to him.. The idea of employing a separate website is not realistic nor is it helpful.

There is probably a way to better organize information that shows up here. Particularly popular topics. Good luck.

With changing policies and different explanation of the rules or just by different enforcement it is almost impossible to keep up a good database with correct information. There are over 70 Immigration Offices inside Thailand and much more Thai Consulates all over the word.

Robert LagasI do web development on my better days. Maybe I can help with database of topics etc. Two issue that jump out at me A) is there already something else available B) Maintenance. It's unreasonable to expect anybody to maintain a database of 500 questions. We do a pretty good job here - because the questions asked are current.

A) Recreating the wheel is a foolish and time consuming endeavour. I have requested membership to Bangkok Expats as mentioned by Marty Pollard to see what they are doing.

B) Take for example the website for Thai Embassy Penandg. There site is simple out-dated and potentially a source of serious issues for its users. Hence - we would want to limit the scope of issues of the database to something manageable.

Let me know if I can be of any help

I believe Bangkok Expats or Bangkok Informed has organized with several different sections like real estate, jobs, etc. it concentrates certain topics to sections and frees up the main discussion thread. You would have to talk to the moderator to ask how successful it is.
