Certificate of Residence

We have recently received a few inquiries about the Certificate of Residence, and some people were not aware that we offer this service.

We can also securely mail the original documents directly to you.
Answer summary
A Certificate of Residence is an essential document for expats in Thailand, required for various purposes such as applying for a Thai driving license, opening a bank account, and purchasing vehicles. The service typically costs ฿1,500 for expedited processing, and the certificate is valid for 30 days. It can be obtained through immigration offices or expedited through agencies that can mail original documents to clients. There are mixed experiences regarding the ease and cost of obtaining this certificate directly from immigration versus using third-party services.

Hi, I am in the middle of building my own house on my wife's farmland living in the family farm house at the moment. I have just got my one year visa but I want to get my thai driving licence as i'm told my IDP only it covers me for 3 months here which is now expired, as I came at the end of october what document would you require to get the certificate?And if you can help with the driving licence?

@Paul ************
just go to the Department Of Vehicles take your international and local license meaning country where you come from line up pay 200 baht do the 3 simple tests, if they say go to watch a video, do it don't argue then they call you get pic taken and license issued for 1 year think it was initially. Ah looked again international expired, you will need to do the driving written test. You don't say which country issued your license if you are from a country that drives on the left, same rules here.

CoR is not TM30, it is based on TM30 but a separate form. Separate for bank account, driving license, purchasing a vehicle. Valid for 30 days and whoever of the 3 places is asking for it, keeps the original document.

What is the price, if you do it alone in the immigration office?

OP
@Claus **********
Policies can vary between immigration offices. In many cases the process itself is free, but it may require multiple trips. Once you factor in transportation costs and the value of your time, it’s often not truly “free.”

Our service is designed for those who prefer to avoid making the trip altogether.
