Benefit on the ON-LINE application is that computers do not talk.

You type and choose the options needed, so make two account, one for you, one for the missus, and apply for one Non Immigrant O visa based on being over 50 years of age (retirement and for one Non Immigrant O visa based on visiting family or staying with applicants family resided in Thailand.

All neighbor countries of Thailand has the rule of minimum 6 months validity of passport to enter the country, so back to Thailand is no problem but you can not leave by land.

Only option is fly back home, get a new passport and come back into Thailand.

There is a limit of 2 times a calendar year visiting Thailand by land or sea borders using the Visa Exempt Entry, NOT with tourist visa, NOT with any other VISA and NOT when coming in by air.

a Copy of the change on 31 Dec 2016

You apply for an Extension of Stay based on marriage with a Thai National, the change of jobs or income does not effect the reason why this Extension of Stay is issued.

See it as the same if you change address, or changes the furniture after making the needed pictures of proof of marriage.

Advantage is that you get 90 days on entry, which gives you 30 days to open a bank account and deposit the money to apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay.

Disadvantage is that IF you apply in South East Asia you are depending on the requirements set by the Thai Consulate in that country.

Not if you plan to live inside Thailand using these visa exempt entries for short time.

Get the visa that fits your purpose and length of stay.

If you entered on 1 Jan and you got this piece of paper on 9 Feb, there is no 90 day report as you are only 40 days inside of Thailand.

As your NEW visa let you stay over 90 days, you have to start doing 90 days reports from the moment the visa is issued and that is why you have to make the report on 9 May which is 90 days after 9 Feb.

You have to wait to register the car in your name as your first 90 day is the one that has to be done 9 May.

I wonder if you get a 1 year Non Immigrant ED Visa.

I would say you can only get the Single Entry Non Immirgant ED visa which gives you once a 90 day stay, but if you get the 1 year stay, please show us the stamps.

7. Period of Stay:

Holder of this type of visa is entitled to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days.

I tried to explain that the best way to know all about the requirements is to visit your local office, ask the hand out, read it, ask questions about not fully understand items and make an appointment when all clear.
