Hi there again! New situation now and looking for some advice: my non B (one year) visa expired last month as my passport did. Still got my work permit until March the 9th. I am applying for a new non b from my country in January to enter thailand on the 31st January. Could I leave the country on March the 24th, coming back on April the 4th?

, as long as you will be back to Thailand within the first 90 days and have a re-entry permit before you leave Thailand on March, you can.

These are the common found requirements for the Re-entry permit.

Do you have a Non B for teaching?

Remember what Robert Lagas said...

With a re-entry permit to re-enter Thailand you only will be stamped in .. to the ending date of your current permission to stay stamp now in your passport... April 14th.

I guess you bought a Single Entry Non Immigrant B visa and got 90 days on entry as Admitted until 14 April 2023?

If that is the case you can leave but if you want this period to stay alive you need a re-entry permit and on return you will get the same date Admitted until 14 April 2023 stamped in your passport.

BUT if your Non Immigrant B visa is a 1 year valid mulitple entry visa, you can leave and get a new 90 day period when you enter again before the valid until date written on the visa.

AS you did not mention which type of Non Immigrant B you have make sure you understand OR show a picture of the visa without personal details to get again the correct advice in how to travel.

yes correct! Single entry for 90 days, getting the work permit after… so leaving 1-12 April wouldn’t be possible as my non b expires on the 14th right? (Also it’s Songkran holidays I guess)

You can apply during the last 30 days of your stay for an 1 year Extension of Stay but you need a work permit to apply.

In your situation application can be done from 13 March onwards

the last day you can apply for an extension based on employment properly is 12 April with your issued work permit. 13 -17 April are official holidays.

You can buy a re-entry permit, but it will not give you any extra time in Thailand.
