TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially announced new visa measures, including the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV), which will come into effect soon. Users discuss the effectiveness of the provided official link to the updates, with several noting difficulties in accessing it. There are also inquiries about existing visa procedures, such as the 90-day reporting requirement and the implications for taxation under the new regulations. The community anticipates the legislative approval to confirm these changes and their applicability to various nationalities.
yes and retirement is 800k but this is a different visa. It looks like they just want to see 500k once at visa issuance too, it doesn't seem like there is any ongoing requirement to keep showing it.
the DTA only means you will get a tax credit in Thailand for the tax you payed in your own country that's all. If anyone has real ,legal and factual information about this would be interested to hear it ,
that’s correct, effectively income will be taxed here, or in your home country, not much different to other countries I have lived, with exception of Dubai.
yep , so regardless people still have toget a tax ID and do an annual return

Yip got my tax ID last year very straightforward I have done a return for last two years as I earned interest on deposit account which had tax deducted at source - it was refunded as my income fell below threshold , under old rules - new regime next year, unclear at the moment how they will deal with DTA when tax years don’t match - my UK tax year is April-April - all will be revealed in Jan I guess
Details of that subject are equally unknown, still. But if you want to avoid all taxes for sure, go with the LTR visa which comes with a Royal tax exemption.
on earnings yes , but people on the elite visa have been conned

Couple of still unanswered questions come to mind: 1) what about 90 day reporting - hopefully gonna be waived (or extended to 180 days). 2) will the DTV be available to all nationalities as long as they meet the requirements? We will see.
Thai and IT don't always go hand in hand too well. The error occasionally happens because of the way Facebook does links and amaneds its attributes to it. You can try and remove everything after New_Visa_Measures_July_2024.pdf from the URL (including the questionmark). But it is basically just the pdf of what I converted into images here.

Maybe they will get round to it this week!

Yeah. I know that only too well from previous visits. Still doesn't seem to be in the Royal Gazette and it is still showing 30 days on ThaiEvisa application page.
For sure. But at this stage that is likely to actually happen. From experience, there is a big difference between a concept published by either the PR or the tourism TAT department - or like now, by the MFA.
