Okay, than my comment was just for information for those who think they can get a work permit based on a visa which you not have

You will NOT get a work permit as a tourist on a free entry stamp.

Talk to HR as you have to apply for the Non Immigrant B visa before you can get the work permit.

Just for information, your are NOT allowed to work without both documents, visa and work permit. even when your employer tells you no problem we know a police officer in case you get arrested.

Only visa that allows working on-line for a company outside Thailand is the

Destination Thailand Visa.

a New Dutch passport takes 4 weeks, so YOU have time enough to apply for a new passport and a new 1 year Extension of Stay before 1 april.

Your wife can apply for an Extension of Stay based on being your dependent and that has NONE financial requirements the same day you apply for your 1 year Extension of Stay.

Beetje verwarrend waar u woot, maar een nieuw Nederlands paspoort duurt 4 weken, u heeft dus nog tijd een nieuw paspoort aan te vragen en een 1 jarige verlenging aan te vragen voor 1 april. Uw vrouw kan 1 jaar verlenging aanvragen op basis van uw partner en dat heeft geen financiele voorwaarden.

I just read some comments made,

I know that it is in discussion, so I wait until a decision is made BEFORE i advice others incorrect

It seems that land borders are closing down OR somebody will make up a new rules for that situation

It will be discussed in a Cabinet meeting next month, so the Immigration Officer can not tell you that outcome.

The old TM6 was only for foreigners, now everybody talks about everybody, so i guess translations are not made correctly. But this is Thailand, shout before you've been hit and to save face, Immigration did change the rules.

I did not write it is a requirement, it was his explanation of why he wanted to see my Thai banking.

Immigration Officer in Krabi explained me once:

Nice that you have an income in your country, but I like to see if you have money enough to life in Thailand, please show me your Thai bank book with foreign deposits.

Your stay inside Thailand, meaning actually being inside this lovely country, starts at the moment you pass an Immigration check point at arrival and stops when the Immigration Officer stamps your passport again on leaving.

It may sound as a surprise but many expats are living multiple years in Thailand without leaving. There is no need to count the days, you are allowed to stay as long as you stay within the limits of your entry stamp OR Extension of Stay.
