looking for answer to this problem.

my friend's 2 children ages 5 and 6 are dual nationality thai and british.

they have passports for both countries.

they came to Thailand last week on their thai passports which had already expired.but were stamped through and told to renew their passports but are having a hard time doing this ,due to issues with their names not included in the house book.

so my question is can they leave Thailand on their uk passport?

thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired whether their friend's dual nationality children, who entered Thailand on expired Thai passports, could exit the country using their UK passports. The consensus from commenters is that the children cannot leave Thailand on their UK passports since they need an entry stamp, which they only have in their Thai passports. It's suggested that the family should resolve the passport renewal issues, potentially by getting the children registered on a Thai house book.

OP got his answer. And this is far from this group's scope, commenting is closed now.

No, we have had experience with this

that was a fail bringing them in on the thai expired passports (especially IF there were any anticipated problems renewing them INSIDE thailand)

They should have come in on the brit passports and just gotten year extensions as being thai nationals that entered on another country passport for 1900baht at the immigraiton office with the mothers thai i/d and their expired thai passports ๐Ÿ™

.

Now as Robert said, there's no way around having to get them a new thai passport. SO if that means getting them on a thai house book, that's what you do, because you HAVE to leave the country you entered on ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Good luck to them.

Stretching the boundary of a visa question quite a bit (IMHO) though ๐Ÿ˜‰

No, as they need an entry stamp in their passport to use it to leave the country.
