Hello, I recently joined this community and am considering the DTV for my move next year. I am still unclear about the financial aspects. Do I need to have $15,000 in savings or earn $2,000 per month from a job, or are both required for approval of the DTV?

Hi šŸ‘‹šŸ¼ I have a question

What information should I enter in point 3? I normally live in Thailand. I understand that I should enter the same information as current in VN that I entered earlier, is that correct?

Thanks a lot šŸ™

DTV Extension Questions:

1) When is the earliest possible time that someone can extend the DTV by another 6 months?

2) Can I get the DTV and then immediately go to extend it by 6 months at immigration, or do I have to wait a certain time?

3) Have there been any credible sources (actual person who did it already) as proof that it costs 1900 or 10000 THB to extend?

Thank you šŸ™

Who can give some information out there please....

I am a Filipina, and my German boyfriend and I are living together here in the Philippines. We want to know if we can extend our stay in Thailand for 6 months after we arrive there.

Or do we need to process it here in the Philippines, or can we do it in Thailand instead?

We hope you can provide a clear answer to our concerns. We highly appreciate your help.

Hello everyone,

Iā€™ve been living in Thailand for a long time using various visas, including multiple tourist visas, a student visa, and for the past four years, I had a work permit for three years while working for a Thai company. After I stopped working there, I switched to a one-year self-defense education visa.

Now, I am a freelancer with a company in my home country. I have sufficient funds to show, with 500k in Wise or my Thai bank account, and I can prove a good lifestyle with Thai bank statements showing around 200k THB per month. I also have a rental contract in my name (30k THB per month).

I would like advice on how best to present my situation to immigration. I want to show that I worked in Thailand for three years, then took an education visa, and now I work as a freelancer with good contracts and income. I can provide client invoices to prove this.

However, Iā€™m aware that working while on an education visa is technically prohibited, so I want to approach this carefully. What would you advise to make my case clear and strong to immigration?

Thank you in advance for your help

Now that I have my DTV and my banking setup finalized, Iā€™m starting to seriously explore the real estate market.

Iā€™m considering purchasing a condo as my forever home, but Iā€™ve come across mixed opinions regarding condos and their ability to hold value over time.

Is the concern primarily due to the sheer volume of condos being built, leading to a saturated market? Or is it more about factors like the location, quality of construction, and upgraded finishes that influence a condoā€™s value over the next 10-15 years?

Iā€™d love to hear your insights and any advice you might have on navigating this decision.

Hi all, I am an Australian and I am coming to live in Thailand on a permanent basis. I plan to start on a visa exemption and when I arrive, apply for the DTV straight away. Is it advisable to do this if you canā€™t wait for the DYV process to take place here in Australia?
