It depends on why you got your non o, you might be legit to a 60 day Extension of Stay based on visiting family.

If you used banked money, it must be in a Thai bank on your name during the 2 months prior application date and some officers ask you to keep the money in the bank during the consideration period. The rest of the year it could be 0.

It is not a visa, it is a way to visit Thailand without buying a visa before you visit Thailand. On entry you get from the Immigration Officer a stamp in your passport with a 30 day Admitted to Stay.

I guess you mean a 30 day Visa Exempt Entry and not the 15 day Visa on Arrival.

It is possible to convert to a Non Immigrant visa from a Visa Exempt Entry but you need to meet all requirements.
