I would like to retire in Bangkok mid to late October. I am 65 from US . I have the baht and pension. Is there anyway possible to get some kind of retirement visa without insurance???
What is the requirement for the 65000 baht per month deposit? Can I transfer the said amount from my savings account back home per month..To transfer pensions and annuities etc. seems confusing? Thanks for your help.
Hi everyone. Just a quick(ish) question as having done my own research into it I’m pretty sure of the answer but would just like a second opinion. Recently reached retirement age here in the UK and I receive £920 a month and that equates to roughly B40,000 a month, I don’t have a private pension so only have the state pension to rely on. I know the minimum is B65,000 a month to qualify for applying for a retirement visa or you can have B800,000 in a bank account, but that is not an option for me. Recently saw on a video on YouTube (I know, not always the best font of information) that in certain circumstances you can get a retirement visa and you only need to have a monthly income of around B33,000. I’ve spent quite a bit of time trying to find info on this but haven’t discovered anything, so I’m guessing that information was incorrect. Was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of the B33,000 option or it it was just false information. TIA
I have recently been speaking to some fallangs who are saying that as well as having the money in the bank 3 months before your visa renewal the money has to be in the bank for 3 months after as well. Is this correct?
Heads up to those who are with Bangkok Bank. Starting today they require you to block 400k/800k (depending on your visa type) 4 months prior to renewal even if immigration is asking 3 months. If not they will disclose documents for visa renewal only by making you sign a paper where you pledge to keep the amount for 4 more months.
I posted another post but I think it’s pointless trying to come back to phuket to get a non o marriage visa based on my passport stamps with too many tourist entries.
I’ll probably get turned away, it’s not wort. The risk.
I’m going to apply as suggested to me to get a non o marriage visa before I leave the UK for Thailand.
My only question is the £10,000 I have to show on an official document when applying, how long does it need to be seasoned in my UK bank account?
Is it only 1 day?
Or 2 months?
I went on the royal thai embassy of London and it doesn’t say a period of time.
Just that I have to prove I have those funds in my account.
I have my money in investments and I can put the £10k into my bank account today and apply if it’s only 1 day.
I was refused a 60 day extension for visiting my Thai wife at my local immigration office on my one year Non-O. I now have 8 days until my visa expires. Can I still book an online appointment at Savannakhet to get a 90 day Non-O marriage visa from them? If not where can I go to acquire one while I wait 60 days for my 400,000 to mature (I was silly and kept it in our joint account).
I’m on a non-immigrant O visa and still on the 3 initial months.
I haven’t started the extension process yet. If I leave the country just before the 90 days are up, could I apply for an O-A visa instead? Honestly, I’d rather not lock up a big chunk of my money in Thailand right now. I prefer to keep it in my home bank for at least another year before thinking about a longer commitment. Do you think that’s going to be an issue with that? TIA
