Richard Jenkins made this post earlier but he had his passport number visible in one of his images so I edited the image, deleted the post and messaged him to repost it.

He can't receive messages from people so he didn't see my message

Here's his thread

In July 2023 obtained a 12 month Non OA Visa based on retirement from the UK. This was multiple entry by default. To get a new year entry stamp (following advice from this group - thanks!) I renewed my health insurance and back in Junr I re-entered Thailand, presented the new insurance and the old visa and was duly given a new 1 year Non-OA Visa (14June 2024 to 13 June 2025).

Back in late September 2024 I left Thailand for the UK and then returned on the 21 October. When I got to immigration at BKK they told me that the Non-OA Visa wasn't valid because I didn't have a reentry permit. This was a bit of a shock to me because my previous Non-OA Visa was multiple entry and there weren't any extra stamps in the passport to show that.

I debated with first the immigration officer and then her superior but to no avail. They both informed me that the Visa was not valid because I did not have a reentry permit. I assume this was correct although I have to say I was pretty pissed off. So now I have a 60-day visa-free stamp in my passport issued at BKK. It expires on the 19th of December. I live in Pattaya.

Is it possible for me to obtain a 90 day Non-O visa based on retirement or even better a 12 month Non-O visa based on retirement without leaving Thailand. I meet the financial requirements, have a current TM30 and previous TM30s and also have a 12 month contract for the condo I rent. Have valid passport and can get photos.

Do I need any more documentation?

I would normally go to the local immigration in Pattaya but would happily travel to Bangkok if that made any difference.

Thanks for your advice.

I need to go to the Pattaya Immigration Office for an tourist visa extension.

Has anybody done this recently at the Pattaya Immigration Office? What are the requirements?

I know I can look on the interweb but it's been my experience that each immigration office does it differently and they don't bother to publish the differences.

I just came in on a marriage visa. I am in Pattaya and I have all my paperwork. How soon before my visa expires can I get the 1 year extension? Do I have to wait to the last minute?

I was coming in September and was wondering why some people use a visa agency and pay about 30,000 baht for a visa and bank account, and accident insurance versus people that go to the immigration office. What the pros and cons are for both. How long it takes for visa approval bank approval etc...

My plan is to arrive on September 1 and stay a week in Bangkok.

Then take a bus to Pattaya after a week.

Thanks in advance...

Hi

I have a retirement visa and am in Pattaya now.

I have the following queries

1- I understand that for my first 90 day report that this has to be in person. How long before the 90 days is it allowed to report.

2- what is the procedure.

Thank you for your assistance.

Posted the other day and was very vague about part of my question because I wanted broad input. My plans were not well formed yet. Now it is looking like, if there isn't a reason not to, getting my extension in Chonburi would be much easier than in bkk. Is there any reason I would not want to use that office?

I will be due for my extension on the 12th and it looks like I might be in BKK/Pattaya area. It doesn't matter what office I go to right? I came visa exempt. Is there an office that is smoothest I should aim for?

I have been informed that I must have 18 months on my passport if I want to extend it for one year based on marriage. I have just arrived in Pattaya with a 90 day non O visa but only have eleven months left on my passport. What can I do?
