What you didn't ask but I will share with you.

I was shopping around for visa options, marriage or retirement. Visa agents quoted me 10-15K to do the retirement visa. They quoted me 60K to do the marriage visa.

nobody likes those things. Pay an agent?

You're really over thinking it.

Multiple entry gets you a total of nine months, but you're still required to leave every 90 days so it's not a great option.

There are some great places near here (Bali comes to mind).

Come to Thailand, stay up to 89 days, go to some other place, enjoy yourself a week or two come back to Thailand leave sometime before 90 days.

Travel days count against your days in country.

I million years ago I looked into the fiancé visa vs the wife visa. You may want to consider both options.

I was planned to provide my tax returns from the past two years which should satisfy the income requirement.

Not if they let you in. Then is a little red flag.

Last time I flew into Thailand (couple of weeks ago), they pulled me aside and yelled at me about using a tourist visa, for 10 years. They let me in, it wasn't a big deal, but they are starting to pretend to be more serious.

Why not get a visa?

It was my understanding you would have to leave and come back to activate your visa. I have been in a similar situation, where I apply for and get my next visa before I leave Thailand.

You can do a quick border bounce, find a an agent, book passage to the nearest land border, go have lunch, come back (with the correct paperwork), you're done.

You don't have to use a land border, I just find it's easier where I live (Pattaya) to bounce at the border then grab a flight.

"OR learn my lesson and bring the supplemental IDs to the next branch I attempt "

Is one of two of your best options

Either

- Go to several branches, with all the imaginable paperwork

- Hire an agent

My bank required I buy a one time insurance policy, for that year I have 3 million baht coverage for something, I am not sure.

I don't know about the Canadian banking system but the Thai banking system is much different than the US.
