US Passport Renewel. Thai Visa related on the grounds that my passport is full of Thai Visa and needs to be renewed.

I need to get my passport renewed I am in BKK and I have approximately 30 days left on my current

visa

Anybody done this recently.. How many days does it take, from the day I drop it off until I receive it via Thailand post. if they send via Thailand Post. Last time I got my passport renewed in BKK it was 2 weeks. But now things have changed.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Bangkok seeks advice on renewing their US passport due to it being full of Thai visas, with only 30 days left on their current visa. They inquire about the processing time for the renewal and delivery via Thailand Post, noting their prior experience took about two weeks. Comments suggest that discussions on passport issues are tangentially related to Thai visa matters, cautioning against confusing the two.

You need to stop prefacing your posts with "thai visa related" :O

This is about un-thai visa related as can be.

Also your border bounce to KL is NOT even remotely thai visa related. You HAVE a valid visa in your passport for thailand and the fact that you seem unable to pre-act to get a new passport before you run out of pages OR are unable to apply for a new passport when you have enough time on your current stamp to avoid going on overstay seem far more a case of piss poor planning rather than actual thai visa related stuff. :/

Never the less, good luck, (y)

nope you're right I was mistaken, they now only mail them back to you and it takes about 3 weeks all in to get it done. I'd say do your border bounce, get another 60 day stamp then apply for the new passport.

Same site says: "Beginning 1 July 2018: All passports renewed at U.S. Embassy Bangkok will be returned to the applicant by Thai Post registered mail. For further information please select your relevant passport renewal option above." Or do I misunderstand

Hardly thai visa related :/ Edited to reflect that

Beginning 1 July 2018: All passports renewed at U.S. Embassy Bangkok will be returned to the applicant by Thai Post registered mail. For further information please select your relevant passport renewal option above.

Sorry for the bad information.
