Thank you for mentioning it. Tod. found it on some website. But it's good to hear from someone with personal experience. Websites, especial non-English can be inaccurate.

My first hand experience with the Thai embassy in Beijing , 3 years ago , is that they did not at that time accept visa applications from people who were non-resident in China . In other words , foreign tourists could not apply for a Thai visa there. . It may have since changed .

China you need residency to get a visa. This does not apply to Hong Kong which is quite easy.

right (y) a lot of people get confused because on the website it says a copy of Hong Kong/Macau I.D.Card BUT what they mean is that little piece of paper they give you when you enter Hong Kong. :)

WOW.. Thank you. I am glad I asked. I just assumed it was the same everywhere. Any consulate would issue SETV to any nationality. Also explains why you have not heard of many visas coming from China

Japan is the same, Singapore and KL used be like that as well but changed at some point. They are have different rules and it changes all the time.

@Ter***
, did you see this on the Thai consulate in Beijing's website?
Tod *********
There are NO shortage of thai visas that have VOID stamps on them

Here are some from Penang, Phnom Penh, Wellington and Guangshou

and those were just the ones I found perusing my collection of visas and stamps. :O

I'm sure I have more hiding somewhere on this p/c ;) ..

^^ indeed. Also, leave the Chang beer vest at home. I still can't believe the amount of blokes who wear beer vests in embassies and Chaeng Wattana. Most of them seem old enough to know better. Vientiane have always been good for me (y)
Barry ******
Well the Chang beer vest proves that you're a genuine tourist ๐Ÿ˜›

I guess when you have all the correct documents, dressed nice, had a good shower and shave, walk in and show respect most of the Consulates will be user friendly. If you walk in with the attitude that their staff are twats it would not be as friendly. But that is a personal opinion.

there are not a lot of reports about getting thai visas from the consulates in China. Now that's either because a lot of people don't go there, OR they're hard as nails to get visas from. I don't know that answer

"No" takes fewer key strokes, leads to less power consumption, green planet. The Earth and I both thank you.
Robert *******
No, I don't have any experience.

So
@Robert ******
back to the original question do you have any experience with Beijing Thai Consulate? There maybe another facebook page for op/ed.
Robert *******
If user friendly is seen as in the ease of getting a visa without any problems I totally agree. If the application or Visa get denied with a good reason and explanation, I can still find the staff friendly and the consulate user friendly. Those people are just doing their job and sometime it means they have to disappoint a client.

Yeah, I think you and I are of the same mind. I have a few tourist visa now, and was thinking of going to Beijing for the next. Any advice?
Tod *********
While I don't think there's anything wrong with dressing neatly, I don't think any of those things have a bit to do with it.

I think it's totally up to the number of visas and stamps to thailand you have in your passport and the mood of the officer you get when you hand in your paperwork. :/
