I just came in on a marriage visa. I am in Pattaya and I have all my paperwork. How soon before my visa expires can I get the 1 year extension? Do I have to wait to the last minute?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a one-year extension on your marriage visa at the Jomtien office, starting 30 days before your visa expires. While some offices may have different rules, most allow applications up to 30 days prior for long-term extensions.

Jomtein is 30 days remaining on your Non-O before you can apply for the extension of stay based on marriage. Just done mine.

Probably best to ask in Jomtien office. They have different rules than many offices. Most allow 30 days prior. Some 45 days prior. For short term extensions they usually only allow 7 days or less. No idea on their policy for long term extensions.
