My situation. US Passport holder. I am here on METV. I have 3 blank pages (plus the page the stamped me in).
Is that enough blank pages to do a border cambodian bounce?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses whether three blank pages in a US passport are sufficient for a Cambodian border run while holding a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa). The conversation elaborates on the importance of having adequate blank pages for visa stamps and discusses options such as renewing a passport or applying for an e-Visa to simplify the process. Several comments provide insights on travel strategies and experiences related to border crossings and the necessary documentation for expats living in Thailand.

Even when empty pages in your passport are very important to get a Thai Visa, i see as options has been given this enough discussed as a non Thai Visa related topic.

Agreed. Reason I ask is the outreach will be in Phuket in November and it would be great to renew local. I doubt I will make it till next November with 10 pages.

It depends on the policy of your Embassy. I would say with ten pages or less make sure you get a Admitted to Stay period in Thailand long enough to start and finish the proces. Reading posts here it seems that most people wait until the last day of validity or total full passport and last day of their Admitted to Stay date. And than start panicking. We must be aware that to travel around the world the passport is the most important document to do this, be careful with that booklet and take care in time.

When can you apply for a new US passport based on the amount of pages? I would love to swap mine out but have ten empties left.

Кіяк Бснцги I think you are right. The website says "any time" so I guess if you pay they don't care. Return time via mail is only a few weeks also so I'm gonna renew after my next run then start next year with a fresh clean passport and matching Non O over 50. I'm finally old enough to retire! (according to some random rule making person at Thai Immigration.)

Кіяк Бснцги I live outside of BKK and will be in BKK November 12 - I was hoping to take care of it then instead of making a special trip to BKK.

Ok just booked Pattaya->KUL->BKK one day. I would like to renew my passport at US embassy, BKK. But they have no appoint availability except 1 day (in the first week) of November. Do you know anything about their scheduler? Am I reasonable to assume that they only book appoints 30 or 40 days in advance?

Why not fly to KL and back (seeing as you don't need a visa and don't even need to stamp in or out of that country if you don't want to as long as you stay in the transit area once you're there.
only your exit stamp to thailand and your new entry stamp. You won't get any stamps in Malaysia if you stay in transit between the flights. Just keep your boarding passes to show them you were really there ;)

A person from the USA needs a visa to get into cambodia, meaning you're going to burn a whole page on the visa sticker (unless you get an e-visa which is only good at certain border crossings). Then you'll need the stamp out of thailand, the stamps in and out of cambodia and the stamp back into thailand (about another page in total).
you won't have a problem bouncing out and back in with that many blank pages left BUT if you're gonna bounce at Cambodia you might wanna get that e-visa so that you don't get a visa sticker in your passport. Of course that means you'd have to bounce at the Aranyaprathet - Poi Pet border (the only one in the area that takes the e-visa.

when you say blank pages you mean ones that say visas on it or the ones that say endorsements? You do realize that the last few pages in a US passport is the pages for endorsements right? They won't stamp you in and out on those pages

yep. 3 real visa pages + some endorsement pages.
