Sorry if the answer is obvious..

If I come on a Tourist Visa - 60 days+30day.

Am I required to have insurance? Would I need it for 60 or 90 days?

(Dear admin, I did search the #insruance tag, but all the questions seemed to be about where to buy insurance, not if I needed insurance)

(I have health insurance, just not Thai Endorsed Covid Insurance)

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand on a Tourist Visa (60 days plus a possible 30-day extension), it is generally required to have insurance that covers at least the duration of your stay. This means you would need insurance for 60 days, and it must include coverage for COVID-19, covering at least $50,000. The necessity for insurance has become stricter, especially with the Thailand Pass requirements.

Simple answer to the question is that typically for the Thailand Pass one needs coverage equal to the duration of time you will be initially stamped into Thailand. For a tourist visa that would be 60 days.
Darren *******
Why would you not insure yourself for the known duration you woud be here.
Marianne ********
These days you need insurance to get into Thailand as far as I understand it.

And it needs to cover at least 50k USD with covid coverage.
Lee *******
60 days insurance required for 60 day visa.
Lee *******
He asked what are the requirement's for visa and 60 days is what you require. A lot of people change Visa after that and requirement's change and you can source Insurance in Thailand.
Lee *******
you require insurance for the length of your visa only to get approved.

@Lee ******
he said 60 + 30 more on a visa extension as I read it.

@Lee ******
if you intend to extend to 90 days how stupid would a person be not to buy insurance for intended stay.
James ********
More important question is why you would not want health insurance that includes COVID coverage when COVID is surging in Thailand?

If you have no place to self-isolate, like a house or a condo, they might force you to quarantine at the hospital even if u have no symptoms whatsoever and that might cost quite a lot, so you have to make sure your insurance policy covers such cases, or that you have enough money to cover it yourself...this can happen BOTH on arrival to the country and on the departure...

will it pay if you test positive for COVID WITHOUT symptoms?
