TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the experiences of individuals seeking to obtain a Thai Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) from Brunei, specifically for U.S. passport holders. Participants discuss the challenges faced, such as the requirement for Brunei citizenship for accessing certain services and previous experiences in making similar visa applications in other countries. There is also a mention of plans for visa runs to Brunei and a discussion on current regulations regarding foreign nationals.

Andrea Borapush I asked a similar question about the Thai Chinese embassy. Apparently, they too require Chinese citizenship in order to issue Thai visa. Someone on that thread said it used to be that way in Japan and So. Korea-- I guess it's common and worth while to check before traveling to unfamiliar lands.
Too bad they don't issue Thai visas in Krabi --- Krabi is such a nice place to visit.

Yes, reading that looks like being Brunei citizen is a requirement to get the access to services, it just sounds a little bit weird to me, but maybe it's common in such little countries

I have not -- I will need to go end of May. When is your next visa run?

Did you get some info about, or maybe, have you been there already? I was planning to do a visa run there, some people from brunei who are working in thailand say would be ok for foreigners to get a thai visa in Brunei but I cannot be sure.
