Are there any specific doctors or even hospitals that you all may recommend in bangkok if wanting to apply for the soft power option via medical? Thanks for any input.
I would be interested to hear from anybody who has decided to self insure in Thailand. I am 67, married to a Thai national, speak Thai and willing to use public health care, as my partner does. Thanks in advance.
This post only has value for US citizens who stay in Thailand 6 months or less per year and are using a Medicare advantage plan. These are my reimbursements from Medicare advantage from United Healthcare. As you can see, I was already reimbursed by the plan.
Good morning to all in Thailand. I am inquiring about visa requirements: is a physical therapy clinic categorized under the medical section of the visa or are specific requirements necessary for that section of the visa?
Hi everyone. Can you register with a GP here on DTV? Wondering what’s the cheapest option to get long term prescriptions because it’s too expensive just buying from a pharmacy each time. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

Hi, I had a eye surgery in Bkk/Pty Hspital because of retina detachment in December, since then 4 follow up appointments and surgery in about 3-6 Months again. I may wonder if I can apply for soft power DTV medical Visa, I not work but have enough funds. Any suggestions?
Seeking advice for something a bit urgent. My wife will have her medical check at Bumrungrad in order to get the CR1 visa (marriage) to go to America. For this she needs all vaccinations. She has no record of these. Bumrungrad can do the whole process but if we get the vaccines there it will be around 30k total for the health check + vaccines
I’ve been recommended by another expat to first go to a government hospital to get an antibody test to see what vaccines are already in my wife’s system (she lost her records). Then we can see what she needs and have it done cheaper outside of Bumrungrad
I’m wondering if anyone else has done this process for their spouse and if you have any advice. Just looking for the most cost effective way.
The medical exam itself can only be done at two hospitals and this was confirmed by the embassy
