TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully extended their 30-day tourist visa at Bangkok immigration, entering at 7:00 AM and exiting by 10:30 AM. Other commenters inquired about the location of the immigration office and confirmed the extension is for an additional 30 days following the initial 60-day stay granted upon entry.
at Sisaket Immigration they fix my extension within 10 - 15 minutes. And the best yet - I rarely have to wait, only sometimes there is one foreigner ahead of me. It seems the Ubon office is more busy
No, it was my fourth extension. None of them took more than an hour except one time when I arrived around 11 at the Sirindhorn office and they broke for lunch but I was still in and out in under 2
i was 52 of age and not retired yet, when I received my first "Permit of Stay based on retirement". And I am still not retired and just did the 12th extension . . ๐ .btw not hunting any sharks where I live in the Isaan backwater
some people may get confused by the phrase "retirement visa".. On the one hand it could mean that you have reached a certain age have financial independence and intend to spend time relaxing and enjoying life.. Or it could mean that you are fierce shark hunter and you've come to practice your trade.
please mind the terminology, just for the record. There is nothing such as a "retirement visa" to be had at any Thai immigration office. You got an "Extension of a permit of stay based on retirement" valid for one year
Hi terry , where abouts in bkk did you go for this ? ( Think Iโm looking for the same , Have a standard 30 day tourist visa and looking for a 30 day extension )
