Hi all, just came back from Chaing Mai and we can now confirm that we want to move there summer of 2026. My son will be in 10th grade and will need to attend an international school there. My husband is planning to run his business remotely from Thailand… what is the best option for us for visa? Need at least three years so my son can finish school. I’ve lived in Thailand for 6 months on an Edvisa. I have 6 months left but the goal is secure a DTV. I am in the process of opening my own business in the US and I’m wondering what information is required? By the time I apply for the DTV my business will only be 6 months old. Is tax information required? Anyone apply within the first year of business? Any info. Would help. Thank you 😊

Just an update, checked put of laos to chiang khong today either the dtv. Laminated 2 sheets together took half a minute to get through laos immigration and about 3 mins in chiang khong. He did ask me some ridiculous thai questions because my Ed visa and we joked a bit as I'm proficient in speaking,reading and writing.just a heads up,simple

and Non-B Visa extension to marriage visa inside Thailand in Chiang Mai?

Hello all, would love to get in touch with anyone whose done the ED visa + guardian (non -O). I’m 34 days into my 60 day stay on multiple entry visa and about to enroll my child into an international school. Is it possible to do this visa while in Thailand or will I eventually have to to leave the country. I’m hearing it can take up to a month to process.

How can I avoid paying 220bhat ATM fees and 20k withdrawals limit, as a language Ed-visa holder? That’s such a pain in the ass.

Is there any local app that verifies me with my type of visa so i can transfer everything there from my visa card to avoid charges? Or i donno, any other workaround?

EDIT: Please Stop telling me open a bank account. I WAS NOT ABLE even after asking my school agent, yes that's quite stupid that they don't allow a non-tourist person like me open an account in Thailand.

Tried to find an answer and couldn't.

Regarding 90 day report reset:

1.was on ed visa which i cancalled and left thailand on the 29th of january.

2. my 90day report was due on the 16/02

3. Left thailand on the 29/01

4. came back to thailand on the 29/01 on a tourist visa exempt.

Do i need to report on the 16/02 or was my 90 day reset upon re-entering thailand?

Hello guys, at HCMC I just got a request for more documentation to prove my current location. They asked for a scan of the passport full book including empty pages.

In my passport I have some visa extensions from my ED visa. Do you guys think it would be an issue having those stamps, being the last extension valid until feb 15th (non multiple entry)?

Hi everyone! I have will have spent a year in thailand in April on a ED Visa (language learning). I’d like to stay one more year, but does anyone know if its possible to get another ED Visa for a different school/study (such as muay thai or hand to hand combat?) what are my options besides the DTV visa? Seeing so much mixed info online. Thank you!
