That's dumb. Even if Phuket opens to international air travel, 99% of people fly into Bangkok. And as far as I know, there's only 1 country that is even considering developing a vaccine passport.

You can get a 60 day "covid unable to travel extension." Tourist visas can't be obtained in country.

Should I apply for a retirement Visa (NON-O-A) in the USA or come to Thailand on a tourist TR Visa?

Garrett ***********

You can only get a Non-OA in your home country. You can transition to a Non-O yearly extension in country, but you'll need 800k baht in a Thai bank account, something you don't need of you get the Non-OA in the US.
