TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights uncertainty surrounding the resumption of international flights to Thailand, initially anticipated for late June. Due to differing international policies and complications with neighboring countries, expats express skepticism about the timeline and feasibility of travel. Some mention the specific challenges faced by foreigners in Thailand regarding visa status and the current lack of clarity due to COVID-19.

Thailand allows people to teavel from thailand to another country. And it also depends if the other country allows inbound flights and are not on lock down. I have a flight back to tanzania before end of june
saying sept in Thailand means Dec at the earliest I’d say.

" ... banned until further notice." does not sound good. I hope for the foreigners with Non O stuck abroad with Thai families they will be able to come back together with Thai people stuck abroad. But people on a tourist visa seem to be screwed, last in line.

The way I see it even if Thailand allows flights in and out doesn’t mean anything, it’s the other countries that they have to obey. Most countries are not allowing international flights in or out, so whatever Thailand decides to do makes no difference until the other countries allow international travel in and out. So best case is to wait and see when the world id opened up to all.

In plain language... This whole mess is a 3D Chess Game... or as is said in West Texas "You can't there from here"...
Until there is some sort of uniformity at least among the neighboring countries in Exit and Entrance policies no foreigner inside Thailand can expect to be able to process a border run or Visa run in the region in the near future. Example - Cambodia... Even if the Thai Border was open with Cambodia it would not be a practical option as they now want a $3000 Covid Security Fee (actually a partially Refundable Deposit). Plus fees for testing and possible room and board.
And of course there is the bigger 3D Chess Game on the International Scene. To analyze the number of needed Chess Moves to allow flight coordination for Exit and Entry would require a very powerful computer.
This is all total Myopic Nonsense - Mutually Assured destruction of of the International Airline Industry. Not to mention the utter confusion thrust upon hopeful travelers.
