Suprise suprise, the 60 day covid extension has been, wait for it... Extended again. This time it has only been extended another 30 days however, so the last day to apply for the 60 day covid extension is August 24th.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 60-day Covid visa extension in Thailand has been extended again, but only for an additional 30 days, making August 24th the final application date. Comments from users suggest an expectation that border runs will remain complicated, leading authorities to continue this extension. Various inquiries about necessary documentation, application processes for different visa types, and individual eligibility criteria for extensions also surfaced.

I would get one if I was eligible. It seems you must do the 30-day extension before that.

We can assist with a 60 day extension first (without the 30 day extension).

If you apply on your own without the 30 day extension on a tourist visa or exempt entry stamp it will be up to the officers discretion if they wish to allow it or apply a 30 day only extension.

Hey has anyone been to Chaeng Wattana BKK to get another Covid Extension well before their current one expires? My current one expires on the 29th of August but will have to go in on the 22nd of August- did they add on the 2 months from the end of your current expiration date or give your 2 months from the date you go in? Hope this makes sense- many thanks.

They've been starting them from the day you apply. Hit or miss if you'll get the time added on to the end of your stay.

The Canadian embassy doesn't issue the letters then, you don't need one for a covid extension.

I wasn't denied. I talked to them and they say they don't give anymore to open border country's. That's my info. Maybe you have other first hand experience to share from this immigration.

As I said for the past 2 years... as long as border run is not as smooth as pre-covid, they will extend the Covid extension.

Right. That's what people said the last 5 times or so it was extended again and again. Nothing to do with COVID. Everything to do with keeping money in the country for lack of sufficient incoming foreign travelers. By now the last one should have gotten it.

it appears to be linked to the emergency decree being extended. I'd imagine once that stops being extended then the unable to travel crap will also go.
