Hey, has anyone applied for a DTV via the UK Thai Embassy as a non-UK citizen/resident and been approved? I already have a DTV but my girlfriend (from South Korea) is visiting the UK with me now, and I wasn't sure if she'd be able to apply for a DTV here instead of doing it in Vietnam like the majority of people do.

I had heard that some people applying in Western countries were being denied if they were not from that respective country? Any insights or experiences people have with the UK Thai Embassy for their DTV application as a non-UK citizen would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hellooo friends! I have a question about the DTV and especially about which embassy to choose. I've missed my deadline to transfer the 500k to a bank account, at least if I want to show 3 months of maintaining it. I've now heard that some people had success with certain embassies while only providing proof of only a single month.

All the other requirements are easy for me to produce, it's just this one. So, anyone that has gotten the DTV with just one month of bank statements and which embassy? I guess I would prefer ones in Germany.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in Kathmandu, Nepal, holding a Chinese passport, and planning to apply for the DTV visa here.

Has anyone here applied for a DTV visa in Nepal before?

From what I read on the Kathmandu Thai Embassy website, it seems to be the same process as in other countries (like Vietnam): using the online e-visa platform with the same set of documents.

However, I’m a bit concerned that there might be some additional requirements or local differences I’m not aware of. Could anyone kindly share your experience? Should I just follow the steps on the online e-visa platform, or is there anything else I should prepare in advance?

I’d really appreciate any advice or tips.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hi all,

I've just submitted my e-Visa application for a non-immigrant O (retirement) visa to the Thai Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand. They've come back to me asking for proof of

"Health insurance policy with minimum coverage of 40,000 THB/year for outpatients and 400,000 THB/year for inpatients, and covering the entire duration of the stay in Thailand."

I thought this only applied to the O-A visa?

On their website it lists under "Retirement / Pension Earners REQUIRED DOCUMENTS"

Health insurance policy with minimum coverage of 40,000 THB/year for outpatients and 400,000 THB/year for inpatients, and covering the entire duration of the applicant's stay in Thailand. For more information on health insurance for non-immigrant type "O-A" and "O" visas, please visit [[members only])

If you go to the longstay.tgia.org page it only discusses health insurance for the O-X, O-A and STV visas.

Are they wrong? Am I wrong?

Hey guys!

First off, thanks for all the info you guys share on this group, it’s been super helpful. This might be sorta long, but bare with me because I kinda have to add context to make it make sense lol

I’ve been in the process of applying for the DTV as a freelancer from Chennai, India. I wasn’t sure of exactly how to fill in my name in the application so I had emailed the Thai consulate here for clarification. They responded back telling me to fill in my entire “given name”(first and middle name) from the passport in the “first name” field, leave the “middle name” field blank and add a -(hyphen) symbol in the “last name” field since the surname field in my passport is blank.

So I followed their advice and filled it that way and submitted the application. I’m supposed to go make the payment physically at the consulate since there’s no online payment option here, which basically means my application is on “pending payment” and will be removed if I don’t pay within 14 days.

I was planning on doing the payment today, but I just came across a “Common Mistakes in applying for a Thai E-Visa” page on the ministry of foreign affairs Thailand website while I was looking for something on google. One of the “Don’ts” literally says “DON’T use - or N/A or X or anything to indicate that you do not have that part of the name. Just leave that field blank. But if it is a REQUIRED field, please put - (dash)”

Now as far as I can tell, the last name field on the DTV visa isn’t mandatory or REQUIRED. So, this has now confused the heck out of me lol my full name in the final submitted application shows up as my given name followed by a -

Should I be leaving the last name field blank as well since it’s not a mandatory/required field even though the mail response I received from the consulate in Chennai asked me to add a hyphen for the last name? Wondering if I should submit a new application with the middle and last name left blank and make the payment for that application and let this current one get removed/expire or should I go ahead and make the payment for this one that I’ve already submitted?

It would be a shame to get rejected for something as trivial as this but I’m super confused because of the conflicting information. Thanks in advance, I appreciate you guys 🫡

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on building my 500,000 baht balance on my account. I expect to have it before my application, but the 500,000 balance will only be there for a few weeks, probably before my application. I’ll be applying at the Vienna embassy. Do you have any experience with this?

I can provide six months of statements, and they’ll see my monthly income from my employer. It’ll be the same company that will provide a letter for “remote work approval” and a contract as well.

So, what do you think? Is it more important to have a 500,000 baht balance for three months straight, or is it okay to have an end balance of 500,000 baht gained over six months?

Another thing is, I have two accounts in the same bank. One is my personal account, and the other is my business account. I always have money in my business account and then move about 70% of that paycheck to my personal account. I do this because I pay my insurance and taxes from my business account and other expenses from my personal account.

When I show my statements, there will be a difference in the numbers on those accounts. Should I show them with some graphic that highlights those moments on my accounts or add some text in the PDF to explain everything?

Lastly, should I provide every bank statement in English? Has anyone used Google Image Translation for this?

Thank you for your responses.

Hello, if I have a non-O annual visa in an old passport and made a new passport, I bring both passports to the entry and then have to go to immigration and transfer the annual visa to the new passport, or does that also make the Thai embassy in Berlin ?

-------------
