TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the quarantine requirements for travelers to Thailand based on their COVID-19 vaccination status. Specifically, users inquire whether travelers vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine are eligible for a reduced 7-day Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ). They debate the conflicting rules regarding other vaccines, like Moderna, which seems to mandate a longer quarantine. Comments highlight concerns about vaccine approvals, emergency use, and the practicality of quarantine lengths, especially in relation to costs and personal circumstances.

Lol lo, no one is coming if you have to do one day in quarantine. They just don't get it.

I am surprised people are so concerned about 3-4 days exemption. What difference does it make ? Quarantine is still quarantine.

For me it's just insane. The cost for some hotel quarantines were as much as I spent on rent for an entire YEAR pre-covid. I miss Thailand a lot, but not enough to spend a year's rent on two+ weeks in a single room.

The US is not on the list of countries that need 15 day quarantine. Travelers from the US are at the 11 day quarantine stage.

I'm sure you're right. Just frustrating to see the Thai Consulate reporting 7 days for people who are vaccinated.

That's dumb. Even if Phuket opens to international air travel, 99% of people fly into Bangkok. And as far as I know, there's only 1 country that is even considering developing a vaccine passport.

As long as you don’t come from a country with variants otherwise you still need to do the 14 days

Right now you still need it, the vaccination just change the quarantine time. The only thing you don't need anymore is the "fit-for-fly-certificate".
