TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers are expressing frustration over hidden charges in Thai hotels, including fees for WiFi and mini-fridge items. Many note that while some services like airport shuttles might be advertised as free, there are often additional costs involved. Users share experiences of booking issues, particularly with websites like Booking.com, and recommend direct bookings to avoid complications with charges and inclusions like breakfast or late check-out.

Canβt see it happening.
Minor group of hotels have just announced they are hiking rates across their hotels to claw back investment and promotions they had here during Covid.
Agoda and Booking they are also all adding to the βchargesβ hotels make with their charges to advertise hotels, not to mention if you book through a site you can have a lot of issues if you need to make changes.
Personally I would stick to booking direct and asking them to include any added extras like wifi, breakfast, late check out, early check in for free.

try booking dot com which is their partner. I booked a hotel with my card and they still charged me on arrival. Booking told me that I didn't pay with my card even though I had the email receipt and I could see 2 charges on my account. They then told me it would be "refunded within 10 days. On day 14 I called back and They then told me to ... wait for it.... send them my bank statement and if they see the charges they will reverse it. π I refused and disputed the 2nd charge with my bank. Based on reviews this is normal with this site.

Thai people just see the tourists for charge double triple also when you pay they don't give change or give less. π
