Can I extend my O or OA visa in Pai, despite it being in Mae Hong Son province?

On my motorbike trip of the Mao Hong Son loop I stopped at Pai immigration to extend my visa. I was there about 10:30am, the girl said I was the 2nd person there this morning. 

Quick and easy, there were surprisingly 5 officers there. Compared to Bangkok, everyone was so friendly and actually engaged in a little conversation. I was out in about 15 mintues with my extension. 

I've never been to Chiang mai immigration, but I've read the ques are similar to Bangkok. For extensions, I'd ride 3 hours to Pai immigration and do this everytime.

Good to hear, however the service is good in Samut Prakan either. The immigration building sucks however the staff is really efficient and less moody than CW, though they deal with a lot of foreigners every day (many people from Myanmar stay there). Things like TM30, TM7 and 90d reports usually take no longer than 1 hour.

Can you extend O or OA in Pai even though it is technically Mae Hong son and not Chiang Mai district? I thought you could only extend in the province where you live

Hey Keith, yeah your yearly extension on Non immigrant visas must be done at the immigration office where you live. Since coming back from my stint in Vietnam last month I'm on a visa exempt entry at the moment which can be extended anywhere.

you could extend them there if you lived there. I presume he's on a tourist visa which you can extend anywhere.
