ATTENTION:

Unfortunately the ban on incoming international flights has been extended to June 30th. As of now the soonest anyone can return is July 1st, if it doesn't get extended again. :(

TLDR : Answer Summary
The ban on incoming international flights to Thailand has been extended to June 30th, with the earliest possible return date for travelers being July 1st, assuming no further extensions occur. Discussions among expats highlight concerns about visa extensions, health requirements for travelers, economic implications, and worries about the reopening of borders. Despite being scheduled, most flights now operate for repatriation purposes only, leaving many foreigners stranded outside the country, often separated from their families. The situation is evolving with ongoing debates about quarantine requirements and insurance costs upon return.

Does anyone know what the insurance requirements are going to be like? Are they still requiring the 100,000 corvid insurance that doesn't exist?
Bobby ********
@Andy *********
. You need to have a Work Permit to get approval to enter Thailand. Insurance does exist but it's not cheap!

I will be returning July 1 from Vietnam which is the only country I’ve been in since the outbreak started, does anyone know what will be required when I return to Thailand

does anyone know where I can find these official requirements versus opinions

Thank you
Richard *****
july 1? how? do you have work permit,etc?

Looking at your prior post, it seems you are wanting to come as a tourist.

there is probably a snowballs chance in hell tourist will be coming back by july 1.

if they do allow it, you can look at what they are asking of people that have a really valid reason for being here; work permits .. which was 100K insurance, 14 day self paid mandatory quarantine, fit to fly certificate,etc.
Darren *******
You won't be able to find the official requirements until they announce they're letting foreigners return. On the basis there was an article yesterday saying the government is trying to get more hotels onboard with their quarantine scheme, chances are you might have to quarantine, and quarantine in a hotel rather than at home, with this expense being picked up by yourself.

@Michael ******
quarantine for 2 weeks.. Possibly a medical certificate stating no covid19..

This just highlights the problem with the immigration rules in Thailand. The amount of foreign people who have family in Thailand and can't get back there.

For those Residents of Thailand, their drifting further away from the friends and family. July 1th is a target date, but there’s no guarantee. Frankly, if the Thai government repatriate Thai nationals, they could allow residents of Thailand to return.

genuine question, is there such thing as a resident? Obviously I'm talking about a non thai

This entire coronavirus epidemic has given Thailand the opportunity that they have been looking for. To get rid of all foreigners. I get it and left Thailand, maybe for good, in March. Good luck everyone.

Thank you professor. My manservant just handed me this. He then asked for leave to visit his sick mother in Nigeria. She has some mysterious illness.

Tom *******
Sorry. My bad. I didn’t know you’re a qualified epidemiologist.
Tom *******
Read the news. It’s been mentioned a lot, and do some research. A 2nd wave isn’t uncommon.
Tom *******
Yeah and the talk about a 2nd wave will be in direct proportion to how many people follow the new surveillance rules and download tracing apps and/or use QR codes every time they visit a shop. If not enough do, watch how that narrative will be in your ear till mysteriously a 2nd wave appears as if by magic. We’re all screwed and the more we wriggle in their nets like a trapped fish, the tighter will be the noose till it’s over and we’re served on their plates like Bla Dook Fu.

Unfortunately it is a just precaution.. Thailand has done a great job with the infection rate.
Rick *******
@Don *******
, 😂🤣😂
William *******
@Mark *********
Thailand has wearing of masks,temperature checks,limited number in stores until yesterday,and a very successful epidemiological tracing of infected persons.

The UK has a broke UHS,,,the reason why many now have private insurance and private practice physicians.

UK is like all western societies. Look at the East. Thailand,Taiwan,Singapore,South Korea,Japan.
Tom *******
@Mark *********
yep a “plandemic“ not pandemic.
Mark ******
Thailand could not hide thousands of bodies, packed emergency rooms, dying doctors, families posting on social media, so the Thai death numbers are likely closer to the truth and much less than many western countries. Same with Vietnam. Whether it is a non touching culture, face masks, following rules, climate (UV and humidity), diet, whatever, several SE Asian countries have come through this much better than more economically advanced countries. Go figure! Future studies will detail the reasons why.....while we get to enjoy the results.
Steven ***************
Mark. There are many factors that can help explain the difference in numbers between Thailand and many western countries. Weather, lack of human contact in cultural terms(thais don't touch eachother or get in each others faces), vast majority of thais obeyed govt guidelines unlike westerners and they responded to the emergency early and correctly, learning from the mistakes of other countries too, unlike the orange moron in the States.
Mark **********
