The PM held a television address to the nation in which he said Thailand MUST fully open by October 14th. He said Thailand needs to take a "calculated risk" to protect people lives and livelihoods.

It's good to see Thailand moving in the right direction. I think if Phuket does open on July 1st, there would be no reason to doubt a full reopening by the end of October. We'll have to wait and see though.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Prime Minister announced a full reopening of Thailand by October 14th, emphasizing the need for a 'calculated risk' to balance lives and livelihoods. There is optimism about the reopening, particularly with Phuket expected to open earlier on July 1st. Expats and travelers are inquiring about visa policies, specifically whether the standard stay for tourists will revert to 30 days without a visa, depending on the removal of quarantine restrictions. Additionally, discussions include vaccination targets necessary for reopening and concerns about previous government commitments related to safety.

This is the same man who stood in front of the UN many years ago and promised to halve Thailands road deaths by 2020.

I think they took a lot of the government sites down due to the data breach.

They need to start vaccinating 833,000 doses a day to meet that target.

or maybe people should take responsibility for their own immune system through a healthy lifestyle then only the vulnerable need to be protected/vaccinated which can be done easily

Very doable. Will be done.

That's almost like vaccinating 1% of Thailand's population daily. A very unrealistic goal

You have to vaccinate everyone twice. So they roughly need to vaccinate about 40-50 million people twice (if they want to achieve their goal of 70%) - so we are talking about one hundred million vaccines. They have three months to do it.

So to be clear????

If Thailand were to really open up to tourists like the old days??

Is it 30 or 45 days a tourist can come without a Visa?

I did look it up and seems still 30 days???

Hasn't been any announcements but I'd suspect it would go back down to 30 days once quarantine is dropped.
