TLDR : Answer Summary
The community discusses the current status of TM30 requirements, with insights into individual experiences of compliance and local enforcement. Some expats share their frustrations with outdated reporting requirements like the 90-day report, advocating for a more modern system like smart ID cards to reduce bureaucratic hassle.

We need a smart chip Expat ID card with all info in the chip eventually doing away with all the unnecessary reporting

and implant it on the back of the neck.

Few if any offices were even using the TM28 (with the exception of those wing-nuts down in Division 6 Phuket). Most other offices scrapped it a LONG time ago when they got rabid about the TM30 :P

I'm glad that they are waking up and seeing the real problem these reports are. Now do away with 90 day report. Don't need them anymore, they have smart card and biometric. Let's join the 21 century and treat each other with love and respect.

90 day report still is usefull. Smart card? Biometrics? How do they help checking if somebody is still living in thailand?

They have been to my house but still ask me.

TM30 requirements still pretty much in place, but my local IO only wants me* to do it if I return from abroad.

*I do it for my homeowner, who is the one technically required to do it.
