I have been asked while crossing the Malaysian land border. It's really odd but they will only accept THB cash. Nothing else. So if you're crossing that way be prepared to show 20,000 thb (or maybe only 10,000. I don't recall).

I am US passport holder.

I use Google Voice, no issues with OTPs. On rare occasion I will come across a service that won't accept it (paypal for example), and I don't seem any lesser because of it

My banks, the IRS, various other services seem to work fine.

With google voice, however, you still need a real phone number to associate with the gv number. In my case, I have a friend that lets me use her phone number, once or twice a year I have to "verify" the number which means google send me a code and she has to enter into her phone (or similar process).

I did really well with Crypto until I didn't (short selling hurt me). I have learned my lesson. I may buy crypto again in the future but I won't consider it a "investment" but rather a "gamble".

You're up "141%" ? Or "41%"?

What app is that? I found plenty of English app to quote gold but they don't quote local gold prices.

Is it an METV?

If it's METV (and I think it is), you can stay up to 9 months. Actually, you can stay up to 90 days after September 6 2024. If you stamp in September 5, your stamp will be good for 60 days. You can extend that stamp an additional 30 days. You are free to stamp in/out all you want up to September 5 (or maybe September 6 if you want to take some risk).

Most likely the rules will change in the next several years.

I am married to a Thai national. The last time I tried to get a marriage visa (90 days), no issues, I had to collect bunches of paperwork, but getting the visa was pretty easy. Getting the extension (1-year) as another story.

The few agents I talked to said they could do it for 60,000. They do retirement visa for

. That should be an indication of the different complications. My scenario is a bit different than yours, my wife and I don't live together. If the two of you live together then it's less of a concern, but the process is still a pain. The take away, if your 50+ then a retirement visa will be easier.

Let him loose his passport. Likely he will make that mistake once.

There is no limit about how long you have to stay out of Thailand, you can go and come back after lunch.

With Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV), you must leave the country every 60-90 days. My last trip, I went to Cambodia just long enough to get my passport stamped, I was not there more than 15 minutes.
