Can I take 450,000 Bhat into Thailand without declaring it at Immigration

I am moving to Thailand in June, and once I have secured my retirement visa I will have my 1 year old 24"iMac sent over from the UK.

Customs will charge me 7% VAT as it's imported, but I am unsure what tax they will add.

I could have it sent to my friend who works for the government as that might avoid heavy taxes ( thinking it is for official use)

Any thoughts dear friends?

I've heard that at immigration in DMK they require 20,000 baht in cash, and that the equivalent isn't accepted. I have to go through customs in three days and I'm wondering what the situation will be. I have a non-O visa... Thanks for any feedback from those who have been through this recently!

Hello everyone! I moved to Vietnam, and I'm thinking of using my DTV visa for Vietnam visa renewal (frequent and short entry and exit). Can you tell me if there are any similar cases and how Thailand (Bangkok) сustoms control treats visits every three months for a couple of days?

I bet no one has asked this question. I am a watch collector, not expensive watches about £150/£200, and was going to take about 8 with me when I go to Thailand next, will I have any problems with customs

If I have 2 passports, and I present a brand new passport to the customs officer, does the system see my entire previous travel history, or just my last departure from Thailand?

Got alot of electronics such as a laptop, headphones, sound interface and such.

I’ve read that the limit is electronics under 20 000 THB otherwise I need to pay import or customs duty, but I really need it to be able to work.

What do you think?

Has anyone had any experience yet importing personal items in to Thailand from home country? Due to staying long term with their DTV
