I am in udon Thani for next 3 weeks and want to open a bank account. I am on my wife blue book TR14. What documents are required. I have bought my UK marriage certificate wth me but will I require translation of this certificate. I checked on goggle and found some legal services I can get this done if necessary.
Ok. We are married with a child on the way. We have jumped through all the hoops and wasted many hours at different banks trying to open a god damned bank account so I can apply for a non immigrant O visa and still they won’t let us open an account Who do I have to blow to be able to open a account?!?
Ok I'm arriving on the 6th. Planning on using an agent to get a bank account. Now I set up wise account and linked to my chase bank. I'm a US citizen. So will it be simple to transfer $30k usd to my thai account with wise? Will I run into troubles. Please let me know. Thanks
Hi. My friend has a few $100 notes but the Thai exchange places he's tried won't accept them because they are a bit dirty with some writing on them. Does anybody know somewhere that might accept notes like this? He's in Bangkok.
Anecdotal and maybe evidence of paranoia but maybe interesting... Out in rural Thailand and needed money. Found a Lotus with 3 external ATMs. Different banks. I was in a hurry and left my phone in my car. At first there was nobody around. First atm had an out of order sign. I choose the next which was SCB. While I was using it a woman went to the third. I went through the entire transaction up to the "get your cash" step - machine made noises but no cash dispensed. The same thing happened to the woman at the next machine. I went back to my car to get my camera to get pics of the ATM number and in the 20 seconds that took a while crowd of people had appeared around the machine. I was upset and in a hurry so didn't think about it until later.
Maybe some kind of scam where they jam the door and then do a transaction and pull out your money too? Or just weird coincidence?
By the time I looked at my bank the charge was already reversed.
