Hello everyone.I am wanting to obtain residency for myself and my 7 year old son.I was told you can get residency if your child goes to school.Does it have to be an International school or would an alternative school work? Like Elate in Hua Hin?

*Admin please delete if not allowed!!

I know my question is not visa related, but it seems a lot of families are in this group.

Can someone please tell me what secondary/international schools are like in Thailand please? Most of all, what is the situation with bullying and school policies in regards to that? Are the local kids friendly and accepting? Do they make friends with foreign kids easily, etc…? If you can share your family/kids experience in Thailand I’d greatly appreciate it 🙏

Really confused here, please help. I was planning to get an ED visa and bring along my wife and child with me. None of the Language Schools i spoke with confirmed that i can bring dependents on ED visa. Anyone have similar experiences? My ultimate goal is to relocate to Thailand.

Hi all. Does anyone know if I can get a long term teaching licence here in Thailand? I've worked as a head of department in an international school for nearly two years, have a master's and a pgce from the UK (no Qts) and I'm enrolled on a doctorate in educational leadership. I've heard conflicting info about this. Thanks in advance!

Hi all,

What type of work could myself and partner apply for here apart from teaching positions?

I have a UK social work degree including an NVQ level 3 in children’s residential childcare. - I also have 3 years teaching experience in BKK.

My partner has a UK law degree and an English literature degree. Both are professionals in UK. Social worker and criminal defence Solicitor.

I’m hoping someone can advise…British family of 6 looking to spend as much time as possible in Thailand. Education visa is a possibility, but apart from that - what’s the best way to stay? 60 day multi entry visa? 30 day and extend? Border runs? Any advice welcome!

Just starting this adventure so excuse me if I seem ignorant….

I’m under the impression that interviewing for jobs (I’m a teacher -not TEFL, I am an actual Elementary Teacher in Missouri) and looking for properties to rent is best done on ’the ground,’ with some planning beforehand on-line. So say I find a place but it takes awhile to find a job? How long can I stay on a tourist visa. I know I have to renew it every 90 days- but can that just be done indefinitely???
