I goofed earlier.

I need to apply retirement visa. I would be using the income method (I hope), I have the several months of deposits. I own my own condo, and I am a pretty nice guy.

If I get the bank statement tomorrow evening and showed up at the immigration office the following morning.

Would they give me a new 90 day visa? And within that time I have to apply for the extension?

It happens to be my current stamp expires Wednesday. I can get the extension but maybe that doesn't make sense.

Also, what are the health care requirements.

If you do the softpower way lets say with muay thai, will they ask you for new course purchase once you fly back to thailand to get new stamp once your first 6 months are expired? How about the extension way at immigration?

I am planning to stay 6 months per year in thailand and fly back 6 months later

I am a US citizen and just had a baby with my Thai girlfriend. My understanding was that less than 60 days after birth, I can legitimize my child at the district office. Now I am being told I need a lawyer/interpreter that will cost anywhere between 60,000-100,000 baht.

My plan was to legitimize our child, and then apply for a 1 year visa at the immigration office. I went into the immigration office and they told me it would be a 1 year visa. They didn't mention what one that would be.

There is also the option of getting a free lawyer, but this will take about a year. I wouldn't mind waiting a year, but I am worried if that will change my visa situation. The immigration officer told me on my last border run I would have to fly out of the country for my next run.

I am looking mostly to make sure my visa situation will be good here in Thailand for a while. The money I can come up with, but it is a large expense. If you can offer any guidance to me with regards to the visa and legitimation, I would really appreciate it. Thanks again!

Waiting for approval of my ext of stay stamp which I’m to go get on the 28th. That day I’ve stuff I have to attend making it difficult to get out to CW. So I’m wondering if going the next day to collect my stamp is allowed without penalty.

Just a quick follow-up on my post from 2 days ago. Today i finally extended my DTV at the Krabi Immigration Office after my third visit this week. (you can find my post in this group - use search)

additionaly to my listed documents i also had to:

- show my online banking account / app on phone with the money currently in the bank

- draw a map of where my house is located (hilarious)

- answer some questions like „what your work“, „where you stay before“, „telephone number“, „how much baht one euro“

- pay 2000 baht

As i was the first one in Krabi it was quite funny when they were searching the office for the new „DTV“ stamp. Which was still packaged 🤣

Do has any one figured out the actual difference between the Workcation and Softpower versions AFTER getting the visa? Usually people here are showing a Muay Thai course for 6 months but what about after a year? Are they going to want you to continue Muay Thai or something for 5 years? Will they want business owners to prove they still run that business or are still employed?

Happy new year y’all. Need some educated input. This is regarding the looming deadline for submitting everything for my first-ever Visa 1-year Extension of Stay. My 800,000 seasoning period ends either Fri Feb 28 (will be 60th day) or the following Monday Mar 3 (which will be 63rd day). What are my chances of approval on the Friday? I ask becuz Immigration site says 800,000 must be seasoned 60 full days. Do they strictly enforce? My prob is that by Mar 3rd I’m just 10 days from Non -O expiring. Say I’m on point with all other paperwork for that upcoming date at BKK Immigration (current day’s bank book + Bank letter, TM30 etc) — what are my odds of receiving Extension of Stay in that 10 day window between Immigration Day and expiration of my 90 Day Non-O. As always, you guys are an amazing resource so thank you. If consensus is that 10 days isn’t long enough to achieve the goal, I will be back on here with an interesting question about having a last card to play that I came to possess quite unintentionally.

Now that anyone can freely marry anyone regardless of gender, does this mean a foreigner can apply for an extension of stay via marriage to a Thai citizen of the same gender? And qualify for the lower amount to park in a Thai bank when getting a retirement extension? Is all the same paperwork required, e.g. a translated Affirmation of Marital Status / affidavit of freedom to marry?

I can’t find much information about the renewal process of the DTV Visa.

From what I understand, you don’t have to leave Thailand after your first 180days (you can renew it at the immigration office)

But do we need to go out the country every 180 days after the 1st renewal?

Thank you
