Hi. I have a single thai savings account keeping the 800k as well as monthly xfers of 65k. I regularly draw from the 65k for living expenses with a debit card.

I would like to seperate these to 2 different accounts so the 800k is 100% safe.

If I go to the bank and ask for a second account, is it important to keep the 800k in the same account? Or will immigration accept seeing it bump over to the other account?

I ask because of the debit card - if I should request one for the new account or if they tell me to use the one card for the current account. Hope that makes sense. I will ask the same question at the bank but welcome any pointers here for immigration purposes. Thanks

I know this has been asked many times but I am uncertain….

I have Bank Account with more than baht 800.000 over the last 5 months.

I plan to be in Thailand again by end of Feb and I would like to use the visa exempt entry (subject to the answer to my question) for the 22 months extension.

Can I apply for the 12 months non-o for pensioners with the visa exempt entry or is the 90 day Non-O Visa required?

Thanks

Halo group.

I would like your advice please.

I’m a UK citizen, currently travelling on visa exempt stamps.

I entered Thailand on October 18th and stayed for three days, for which I was stamped in and out of the country.

I entered Thailand again on November 19th, with a new stamp that is valid until January 17th, but I would like to stay an extra two weeks beyond that date, if possible.

So, my questions are …

Is it possible for me to get a 30-day extension on this current stay?

If so, when would be the best time to apply for this at an immigration office?

The answer will inform my travel planning, buying flights home, etc.

Thanks in advance for your guidance in this matter 🙏🏻

Hello!

When extending your stay in Thailand, what reason should you give?

Hello,

I'm here on a student visa for a total of 9 months. I'm planning to go for a holiday (2 weeks)outside of Thailand in April and at the end of May, I'm planning to go back to my home country for a family visit, also 2 weeks.

I know that I have to buy a re-entry permit for these 2 trips but I've read that immigration might refuse entry back into Thailand because it is a student visa.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm Dutch and I go to Thai language school. And i have never done a visa run or anything similar, maybe this is useful information.

Married to a Thai for 33 years but worked abroad and visited Thailand on Tourist visas. On retirement got an O-A visa but with COVID and my Mums passing I had to leave before renewal than spent two years in the UK.

Returned last year on an O visa.

This year had intended to do the same but due to a medical issue not able to know when I was flying and by the time I did could not get a visa.

So arrived on a 60 day visa exemption and the local IO said pop back for a 30 extension.

So would it be best after 90 days to do

1. A border bounce in Loas.

2. Stay in Loas or Cambodia for a few days an return. I have a genuine ticket to leave within that additional 60 days.

Also can you get an O visa whilst in Thailand on a visa exemption.

Cheers

After approval of the DTV, over the 5 year duration of the visa, am I required to provide proof of employment/financial statements to show proof of income? Or is that a one-time deal?

I'm a US citizen. Applied through Washington office under freelance category.

Visa Extension denied at Koh Phangan Immigration.

UPDATE

We went to samui immigration and got the extension in 10 minutes.

We stayed in Thailand from late October 2023 to mid-April 2024, based on visa exemptions, extensions and two border runs during this period. We re-entered Thailand on November 8th, 2024 at BKK Airport, we were questioned and asked for a return ticket. We showed a return ticket for 60 days later. They further told us that we did a visa run with stamping out and in on same day earlier this year and that we should not do this again. (We did this with a visa agency.) Eventually we got stamped in until January 6th. Now, in Koh Phangan, immigration is refusing to extend our visa due to a remark in the immigration system about the return ticket and that we have acknowledged the visa run. They say we must leave. Has anyone else faced this? Can we try Samui or another immigration office? Any advice appreciated.
