Hello everyone. I intend to extend my tourist visa at immigration for 30 days. This is my first entry into Thailand this year. Am I likely to encounter any problems? Because I understand that the authorities in Thailand are now very strict. I ask because I saw a post by a tourist who was not approved for some reason, even though this is his first entry this year.

Just completed my trip to Myanmar via Ranong. We drove down in our car and parked by the pier. Immediately we were offered boat trips so we paid a guy 1000bt to take us. I was the only one on the boat. In addition 500 bt for Visa. Everyone was very helpful including immigration on both sides.

This was my first time not flying in and out on DTV so was happy for the guy's help and didn't begrudge the 1k. Overall it took 2 hrs in total. No questions at all about my DTV. Not asked about funds or anything. 180 more days in my passport

I got the DTV visa last year and spent a few months in Thailand and a then few months in India. Do I need to show the amount of 500,000 baht per person every time I enter Thailand?

Hello, how long before a Non-O visa expires do you usually go to Immigration to apply for the 1-year extension?

You won’t have a problem if you’re a genuine tourist.

Landed at Suvarnabhumi from Cambodia 2 days ago. I have a Non O extension so knew I would not have problems but my mate is here on holiday. He’s been in and out of Thailand a few times during the past 12 months but always stayed inside his 60 day entitlement. He arrived in Thailand 2 weeks ago on yet another 60 day and then we exited to visit Angkor Wat in Siem Reap. Flew back in and all he was asked was, when he was leaving Thailand again. He gave a date within 60 days, didn’t have to show any proof and was stamped in. All good if you don’t abuse the system.

I plan to apply for the Non-O Retirement e-visa outside Thailand. I will enter Thailand using this e-visa, open a Thai bank account, transfer THB800,000 (or more) from my non-Thai overseas bank into my Thai bank account to season it for the extension application.

During the initial 90 days, can I travel back to my home country, or do I have to stay in Thailand until my extension application is completed? If I can travel back, do I return to Thailand using the first Non-O e-visa or come in on visa exempt ? Thanks

Update : Thanks for the helpful comments. Will get the re-entry permit so I can leave Thailand during the initial 90-day e-visa period (will check with Immigration office if this is possible too).

Hi, a further question about seasoning of funds for a retirement visa: What happens if you leave Thailand before the three month period after the extension has elapsed? Immigration would be unable to verify that you kept 800k in your account for the required 3 months. Does your extension get cancelled?

Anybody who is on DTV (workcation) has returned to Bangkok from Cambodia either today or within the last week?

If you can please share your experience during your arrival, that will be greatly appreciated 🙏🏽

Hi all.

I think i know the answer to my question but would like confirmation please.

I will come on a Non O visa (marriage) next year. We are coming over in February and need a bank account which will be in my wife's name. I know we can't have a joint bank account to show the money for my extension. But can I transfer it to my account when I've opened it.

Secondly can I bring cash over to put into my account once opened. Coming from my UK bank. Pensions. I will probably keep the 400k in a separate account and not touch it.

Thanks for the information in advance.

Got a 1 month extension on my 60 day tourist visa in December.

Can I still get a 30 day extension on a 60 day exemption next year? Or does the one year rule applies?
