It's not like that in Bangkok anymore, hasn't been since before Covid. Anticorruption regulations prohibit most check points from taking money.

Adding to what brandon said, it really depends on the person and your conditions. As long as you can prove that you're not working illegally in Thailand and have a legit reason to be here (medical treatment) you won't be turned away. Before covid I lived in Thailand about 3.5 years on tourist visas/exempt entries. Never had a problem.

Exchange rate is lower, last time I looked it was about 1 baht/$ lower than googles exchange rate. There's also a 1% fee to withdraw money from the account, and if I remember correctly, you can't withdraw USD, you have to convert it.

She takes her house book and ID card to immigration, that's it. She required by law to file one.

VFS global is a government contractor. The Thai government chose them last year to process e-extensions. VFS global also does visa and passport work for the British government and India.

The 1900 baht fee is the governments fee. If you use the online service through VFS global, there's an additional fee.

No, it's 1900 baht for the extension PLUS the E-extension fee of 500 or 1500 baht.

You still have to go to immigration and get your passport stamped. The online extension is a joke and waste of money. Just go in person.
