I am applying for my DTV in Hanoi right now. I am going the soft power route with a cooking class. I have no online income but do have bankstatements that reach the requierments and a sponsorship letter from my parents that will support me with a monthly budget. I also do work in Germany as a freelance socialworker from time to time, but I do that like once a year to save up money for the rest of the year (wouldnt want to show proof for that income, because back then I didn't meet the financial savings requirements if that would be a problem). What is the best way of putting this information into the online application for the DTV Visa? Do I put in my freelance status if I am currently not working and my last pay was months ago? Where do I attatch my sponsorship letter to proof I can financially sustain myself? Any answer would be highly appreciated
I need help on my case, so I am appreciate every help and advice.
I am a Vietnamese who lives in Finland, I have a Finnish resident permit and a Vietnamese passport.
I will have an internship in Thailand, which lasts for 97 days so I have applied for the Non Immigrant ( ED) type). i applied 3 weeks ago on the eThai website.
I will leave Finland for Thailand this Sunday, on the 26th. And I just received email last Friday from the eThai website that my application is cancelled due to the mismatch in name, between the form and my passport one
I have submitted a new application with a corrected name and attached a speed up letter for it too.
So here come my question.
- is it still posible for me to receive a visa before my flight?
- if not, are there any viable options? I know that Vietnamese can stay 60 day visa free with tourist purpose.
Applying from Toronto, Canada. Does anyone have a successful email address for the Thai embassy as I have some things to ask and clarify before my visa application. Tried emailing “contact@thaiembassy.ca” but it’s been a week and still haven’t received any response, thanks!
Hi everyone....I've done some initial research and read a few of the posts here. I'm still unsure about 2 things:
1. Can this all be done online? I read that it can, but if so why are so many people going to embassies?
2.I understand that I *might* be asked for monthly income proof but has anyone been approved if that amount is very low?
I most recently lost my main gig (even with that I was only making about $1000/mo.) and am currently doing some teaching and looking into other options.
First a little background info (feel free to skip😅):
I originally planned to move straight to Bangkok and apply for the DTV in Hanoi. But after arriving here about a month ago, I realized it might not be the best idea to commit to Bangkok without ever having been there. So I planned to spend 2–3 months in Bangkok first and then decide whether I prefer Bangkok or Vietnam.
However, I’ve now found out that my line of work (prop firm trading) is not allowed in Vietnam. So that leaves Thailand/Bangkok as the only option since I'm not interested in other countries at the moment.
I'm flying to Da Nang on the 12th and I'm planning to stay there until the 15th of May (as of now). I'm planning to apply for the DTV via the Soft Power route. I’m not sure yet whether to choose Muay Thai or a cooking class, as I do genuinely intend to participate in the course (unlike some, from what I've read😅).
I also saw that it’s possible to apply for the DTV Soft Power route through a language (and culture study) course. I’d love to hear if anyone has experience with that, as I plan to start learning Thai ASAP. But if this has a higher rejection rate I would pass on it. So I would like to hear your thoughts on that.
Secondly, does Hanoi really have the lowest rejection rate (in Vietnam)? Or is this just fairy tales.. Asking because like I said I did initially plan to apply here, but now due to plans unexpectedly changing, I will apply in Da Nang as it is more convenient. However if it's true I will just go back to Hanoi, to apply here.
And lastly, I could see that a IO could imply that I'm "abusing" the DTV Visa since I've never been there yet (I'm saying this because I've seen rejection posts, while allegedly, every piece of documentation was provided correctly). So would it be better to visit, before applying?
I hope I didn't bore you with my extensive writing😅
What is your experience with Mumbai/Delhi consulate after applying for DTV Visa?
I’m planning to apply soon from the Mumbai consulate, and I’m seeing a few post’s about Mumbai consulate rejecting freelancer’s application. I work as a freelance motion designer, and I meet all the criteria. Is New-Delhi Consulate any better? Not sure if someone living in the Maharashtra jurisdiction can apply from the New Delhi consulate. If someone has experience or doing the same, let me know!
I’m a German digital nomad / content creator. I submitted my DTV application in HCMC and received a request for additional documents on Monday 16:32 (last week). I uploaded everything the same evening at 21:00.
Since then the status has been stuck on “Pending Document Check” for 8 full working days (today is Thursday).
My documents include:
• Certified English translations + original German bank statements
• Detailed explanation letter (new income, no tax returns yet because still under German threshold)
• Marked TikTok/PayPal transfers
• Full passport, flight ticket, selfies at Marble Mountains + hotel balcony ( da nang)
I know many people wait long, but I’m getting a bit nervous because I have a flight to Thailand at the end of this week.
Has anyone had a similar experience (long pending after Monday evening upload, new income with explanation instead of tax returns, selfies without timestamp) and still got approved?
How long did it take in your case? Did it jump straight from “Pending Document Check” to “Approved”?
If you are in the same batch or had a similar timeline, feel free to DM me or comment – it would be nice to stay updated together, since they often seem to release in batches.
Thank you very much and good luck to everyone waiting! 🙏
