Is it possible to submit yearly extension of marriage visa at different office from the first application?

I have applied the first application (for 3 monts) and the first extension (for 1 year) at Suratthani Immigration Office.

Now, this visa will expire in Nov, and now I am in Bangkok.

Am I able to apply extension at the office in Bangkok? Or do I need to re-visit Suratthani office for extension?

Thank you,

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether they can apply for a yearly extension of their marriage visa at a different immigration office (Bangkok) from where they initially applied (Suratthani). Community responses indicate that a TM28 form may be necessary to change the immigration office, and that the TM30 registration must reflect the new address. It is emphasized that the Bangkok office may have strict requirements, including the presence of the spouse during application. It is also noted that new rental documents and bank letters are required for the extension.

do not forget that you will also need new rental documents for your extension, along with new bank letters and pictures. Everything else is the same. Also Bangkok immigration is very strict that your wife is with you everytime you go to immigration concerning your visa extension, except to get your extension after the under consideration period. A new TM30 should have been filed within 24 hours after you moved. This also must be on file when doing your 90 day reports. I have seen many turned away until they get their new TM30. Be fully aware that Bangkok immigration is by the book on everything. They don't change the rules like some rural immigration offices do.

Thank you so much for the detailed information and suggestion! This is super helpful. I am so glad to hear this advice now, so I can be well prepared.

Most offices will not do a 1 year extension if you didn't get the 90 day visa from that office.

But if this is your 2nd year then you just need to make sure your address is registered in the new province.

You are correct, I am currently staying with a 1 year extension now. The Nov 2023 application will be my 2nd yearly extension. I will make sure to register new address. Thank you!

I also read he's on a 1 year extension now, applying for his 2nd yearly extension in a new province.

I read it as though they already had had a year extension. This was to be the next

ah. I re-read it and possibly. Still a little unclear.

Wherever your TM30 is filed is the office you use. I’m not sure on the policy of the Bangkok office in regards if you’ll need to fill out a TM28 form or not. Some offices require some don’t.

Thank you. I will prepare everything more than what I need to prepare!

You need to change your immigration office/ province of residence. I believe it's a TM28 form. After that you can do your yearly extension at bangkok.
