— HELP: STOLEN PASSPORT: flying to bkk soon … who to contact?! Please read below —
I need some advice regarding my Muay Thai DTV (Soft Power) visa and my visa is digital (I have an online copy and a printed version - nothing was in my actual passport luckily)
I applied and was approved digitally in Hanoi, but my old Canadian passport was stolen recently and I now have a new passport. I need to update my passport number for my visa, and the Muay Thai school is updating the invitation letter for me.
Has anyone been in this situation before? Who should I contact, and what steps do I need to take to make sure my visa is recognized when I fly to Bangkok on November 5 from Madrid?
- I have a photo of my old passport
- a photo of my new passport
- police report
- all emails with the Canadian embassy regarding my stolen passport
- all DTV documents/pics digitally I used when applying in Hanoi and being approved
Are there any agents in Chiang Mai or elsewhere who can help with this process also?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated — I want to avoid any issues at immigration.
Just cleared immigration at Nong Khai. The female IO busted my balls. Everything she told me right up to the second she went silent and stamped my passport said I wasn’t going to Thailand tonight.
She scans my passport and I guess she doesn’t see my DTV upon first glance and she gasped “mister you’ve been in Thailand a very long time!”
To which I responded, “I have a DTV.”
“Oh? What you do in Thailand?”
I told her, “Holiday”
She just laughed at me in what must’ve been disdain.
The. She proceeds to tell me that the policy says I cannot cross land border. Idk man. I’d advise everyone to fly or go through during the day.
Not here to fear monger, but she was honestly telling me I wasn’t going to be admitted right up until she stamped me in.
Interesting experience thus far, but I won’t be taking an international train again
Hi everyone, I have a question regarding my situation
I’ve been staying in Thailand on a DTV visa while working remotely. My wife also got a DTV visa as my dependent.
Now I’ve received a full-time job offer in Bangkok, and the company will provide me a Non-B visa.
I’d like to ask
1. If I switch to a Non-B visa, can my wife continue staying in Thailand with her current DTV visa, which was applied as a dependent under mine? (Her DTV stamp doesn’t mention “dependent.”)
2. After 6 months, when she needs to do a border bounce to renew her stay, will there be any issue re-entering Thailand since my DTV will no longer exist?
3. Would it be safer to cancel her current DTV visa and apply for a Non-O dependent visa later (even though I’ll still be in my probation period under the new job)?
Thank you very much in advance for your advice and experiences!
Hi friends, I am trying to submit my DTV documents to unlock my features on TrueMoney but when submitting my visa they ask my for workplace in Thailand, obviously since it is a DTV visa we aren't allowed to be working on Thailand. What do you do in this case?
I recently received a request for additional documents from the Thai Embassy for my DTV, and I’m really struggling with it. So I'm here to request a little bit of help 😪
I’ve attached a screenshot with their latest message.
Here is the translation :
" -Other request documents: Bank statement/certificate showing that your account has had a credit balance above 15,000 euros per month for the last 3 months.
- Other request documents: Your file is suspended, please call the visa section of the Thai Embassy in Paris between 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00 on working days."
I am having huge difficulties contacting the embassy directly. I keep getting bots or automated messages (no real person), no matter which option I choose... I feel really stuck and very worried.
Has anyone actually succeeded in getting through to a real person at the Paris embassy, and if so, how?
They specifically tell me I must contact them, but I just can’t, and this situation is getting very stressful.
On top of that, regarding the bank document: my French bank says they’re unable to provide the exact certificate the embassy asks for. They told me my latest account statement, showing I’ve had the 15,000 euros since May, should be enough, and that’s all they’re able to give me. Has anyone else had similar requests or problems with this requirement? Unfortunately, I don’t have the month-by-month account statements for the past three months, only the official letter I already provided.
If you have any advices or testimonials about your own experience and how you managed to get a solution, especially for contacting the Thai Ambassy, It would be extremely helpful. 🥺
Hello, I’m new to the group and would like to ask a question, I’m Canadian and I work overseas (have for over 30 years) anyway, I work a shift of 5 weeks at work and 5 weeks off, over the next year or so I would like to take my off time (usually maximum 35 days) and come tour Thailand. My question is will I have issues coming in 3 or 4 times a year for about 30 to 35 days each time.
I will not be working at all, only traveling around and touristy stuff
Sorry to ruin it for everyone, I completed my Retirement Non-O visa yesterday and the hardest part of this whole process had been waiting in line at the bank to get my letter and bank statements to take to the Visa office. I cannot say enough about the help I received along the way. I’m sorry that so many people have problems with the process but I wanted to shine a little light of hope that it can happen with patience and just having faith in the system. Only downside was yesterday was a Buddhist holiday so the bar was closed and I couldn’t go celebrate.
