I have been working remotely for the past nine years. The company I work for is in my home country as is my banking.

If your plan includes not seeing anybody face to face you can do either the retirement visa or the multiple entry tourist visa..

You may want to wait until it's published in the Royal Gazette (if it hasn't already), until you finalize your plans... Welcome to Thailand.

I would look at schools that do the visa for you... There is likely an additional charge or its part of the cost. If you're confused now you will most certainly be confused when trying something like and ED visa. Thai visas/Thai government is freaking nuts, in part because I don't speak the language, in part because the Thai government is little goofy (all governments really).

No limit for tourist visas. There is a limit on visa exemption by land (entering Thailand without visa).

I am US citizen and I have applied for and received a Thai tourist visa (from the Thai Embassy, US) while being in Bali. I would say it's worth a try.

Otherwise you can come visa exempt and get an extension, that will give you 60 days.

You can get a re-entry permit at the airport on your way out. In my experience it takes 10-15 minutes but I try to fly off-peak times so you may want to allow a little more time.
