Hii,

I’m heading to Thailand next month for a 2 month Muay Thai training camp.

I’m looking to get a 60 day evisa.

Im a British citizen with a British passport but I’m currently living in Bali.

The official visa website said I’m not eligible due to me living in Indonesia to apply for an online visa.

Does anyone know a way of obtaining a 60 day evisa online or do I have to make an appointment with the Thai embassy here in Bali?

Appreciate your help 🙏🏽

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British citizen currently residing in Bali is seeking information on obtaining a 60-day eVisa for Thailand for a Muay Thai training camp. They cannot apply for an online visa based on their current location. Responses suggest that the Thai embassy in Bali is not accessible to foreigners and recommend applying in person at the embassy in Jakarta, although it is known to be challenging. Alternatively, upon arrival in Thailand, they could enter visa-exempt for 30 days, which could be extended for an additional 30 days at a local immigration office.

sadly, the Thai consulate on Bali closed during the pandemic and didn't reopen. You can try to apply within the online E-visa system of the Thai Embassy London, despite you being on Bali. Normally they allow your application from a location abroad. If not, then your could enter Thailand visa-exempt, get stamped in for 30 days which you can extend for 30 more days for 1900.- THB. However the airline might ask you for an "onward travel proof" within the first 30 days after arrival, at the check-in in Bali

I am US citizen and I have applied for and received a Thai tourist visa (from the Thai Embassy, US) while being in Bali. I would say it's worth a try.

Otherwise you can come visa exempt and get an extension, that will give you 60 days.

You're probably not going to be able to get a visa before you travel.

You cannot go to the Thai embassy in Bali, as it's only for Thai citizens to obtain services. Foreigners are not allowed there. The only option you would have is to apply in person at Jakarta, and that embassy is known to be a very difficult embassy for foreigners.

You can arrive without a visa and receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp, and then you can apply one time for a 30 day extension at your local immigration office.

Thanks for your advice.

I’ll do some research into the closest immigration office to Koh Phangan to apply for my extension.

Thanks again.

Have you trained there before ? i’ve been in Thailand training MT for 7 months & my best advice to people training is to not book anything up front

Koh Phangan has an immigration office on the island. But beware they have a special rule compared to most other immigration offices in that you can only apply for your 30-day extension during the last week of your arrival stamp validity. So don't go too early or they will send you away and tell you to return later.
