my son and his GF have been in and out of thailand on visa exemptions for a year or so ( they do Mauy thai). long story short they came back to Australia to apply for Multiple entry tourist visa. They were approved in 3 days.. Happy - took flights to Phuket yesterday ( with flights out of the country in less then 90 days). They were totally grilled and eventually let in but told they can not return again this year! ( despite the visa being approved for 6 months). They were advised to get a DTV ( but GF under 20).
evidently to do with spending more then 180 days in one year in thailand. just thought i’d let people know.
Hello, I want to get a DTV visa by registering for a cooking course in Pattaya. Does anyone in the group know of a reputable cooking training institute in Pattaya (with whose registration form I can obtain this type of visa)?
We're considering the DTV or education visa. Or tourist re entry and would love some advice.
My partner works remotely as well as in person in Australia
We have a 2.5yo and I don't "work".
Together 15 years but not married.
We have a 12 month lease, have brought a car and bike, have a tm30 and letter from immigration proving our residence (needed it to buy the car in our name)
A couple of questions:
- For sponsorship is defacto relationships considered or need to be married?
- if he will be flying too and from australia every month or so for work will tourist re-entry suffice or is that limited to number of times per year
- will coming too and from be an issue if he does receive the dtv visa?
We have someone in thailand helping us recommending education visa for myself and my daughter and dtv for him but would love others experiences.
Hello everyone! Me and my husband just married and plan to move to Thailand from the U.S. We purchashed a one way flight to Thailand for next month. The goal is to live in Thailand for at least a year. We think education visa would be best. However we’re not sure if we should purchase the classes and go with the education visa before getting there or getting an E-visa then changing to education visa once we’re there.
I recently finished my bachelors degree (remote) and have been in Thailand the past 1.5 years on education visas and visa except in the beginning. I fell in love with the country, a Thai man and Muay Thai.
I did not have 500,000 in an account in my name because I had a company in Germany before and it was safest there while I was abroad. Transferred it now. I can get a recent statement, but not 3 months.
I am planning to add a cover letter explaining my plans etc.
Do you have any advice on embassies (close to Thailand) or general advice?
asking for my son who is studying MuayThai. Are people still being successful with Ed visas since DTV came in please? he would have all the necessary docs from his Gym in Phuket.
Hi! I work remote, and am planning to get the DTV, but my employer keeps laying people off. I don’t want my salary AND my living situation to be based on the same unreliable employer for the next 5 years. If I was to get a 5 year education DTV, what education programs can I get into that have a low hourly requirement, and ideally a flexible schedule? I would need to plan it around working full time.
I have a 6 year old that I plan on enrolling in an international school and a 2 year old. I'm stuck on the pros and cons of a DTV or an Education Visa. Does anyone have any insight?
I’m currently in Thailand on an Education visa, but I’m now looking into the possibility of switching to a Non-O visa to follow family.
I was wondering if anyone here has experience with this kind of visa change specifically, is it possible to change visa status from an ED visa to a Non-O while staying inside Thailand, or would I need to leave the country and apply from abroad?
Also, if anyone knows a reliable agency that can assist with this process locally (preferably without having to exit the country), I’d really appreciate any recommendations or advice.
