For some context, I'm an American citizen with alien permanent residency status in Taiwan, and I'm interested in enrolling in Chiang Mai University's Education Visa program. I'd like to do this via the Thailand Trade and Economic Office in Taipei. However, I just went to the Thai eVisa website, and it stated that I was not eligible to apply through the eVisa system. Any guidance on what I should do?

Hey guys! My agency wants me to go to Cambodian border get an arrival visa so they can apply for my DTV should I stay in Cambodia ? They told me once I get the visa I can come back to Thailand the same day and just wait for my DTV and go out to activate it. Currently I’m in ED for my second year in a row. What would you recommend? Thanks

Anyone got any decent schools/visa agents that are legit?

Other than certain companies offering visas with no attendance for 90k and schools requiring physical attendance in one place for 12 months with very strict requirements (I miss 1 day and I get my visa revoked and have to leave within 24 hours ) I'm struggling to find a reputable company I can either learn muay Thai with or do the online classes.

They recommend the DTV visa but I haven't earnt the 80k USD in 2 years due to travelling / working as a scuba diver.

I have the 500k baht cash requirement but none of the extra requirements back dating 2 years. $40,000 earned income per year X2.

I'm happy to attend to my requirements but I would like to move locations every couple months so I believe the online method would be the best for me as I'm in the process of setting up my company via my computer and can work from anywhere.

Id love to hear your thoughts.

(Genuine help/advice please) - I know alot of you will reflect your demons towards me in the comments.

Before DTV, both Muy Thai and language classes were to get the education visa. I see now all the MuyThai are getting the DTV. Has anyone gotten the DTV for language classes?

If you are not interested in taking Muay Thai classes, do you think dancing classes would count for soft power?

DTV Success Story - Indonesia Embassy (EVisa website while in Bali)

*I was on an Thai education visa before

*I am an individual tax resident in my home country

*I sell software online

Documents submitted:

*A 6 month bank statement, the balance was above 500,000 baht for the last 30 days.

*A pdf showing my plane ticket,Visa on Arrival, and a 12 day booking at a hotel in Bali (I booked for 12 days so the booking would be current when they review the submission)

*I submitted a 12 page pdf detailing how I make money online, including: my software listing with hundreds of reviews, my website where people purchase, details of my paypal sales activity (annual report and 2 weeks of sales report), statement of my bank account where I recieve the money, and my tax return in my home country. I also included a statement that I am an individual tax resident, my customers are overseas, and I am able to work online in Thaialnd and contunie my commitment to overseas customers.

*I submitted my application on Monday, and it was approved on Friday (no extra documents were requested)

*Before I left Thailand, I went to my school and got them to cancel my Education visa 4 days before I left. Technically you are supposed to cancel, the visa is not offically closed if you don't cancel. It is possible when you return to Thailand (after getting the DTV), you may need to pay a fine for not closing it, so I closed this properly before applying.

Andi Traveller Thank you very much for your advice!

I have a question regarding DTV. As of this Summer my spouse will officially be retiring from the military. His retirement and VA disability is more than enough to live off of in Thailand which is where I will be for my internship. I’m a full time student getting a degree in ESL with a focus on teaching Thai students specifically. I can stay in Thailand on my education visa during my internship but the husband and kids will be coming with me. He is too young for a retirement visa and he’ll need to be a stay at home parent since our kids need online schooling. Does the retirement income and VA income count towards a DTV? I’ve heard conflicting answers on expat pages so I figured I would try here.
